WILI-FM running a religious talk show?

I noticed last night (Sunday) that WILI-FM 98.3 of Willimantic ran what sounded like a religious phone-in show of sorts. And then just before midnight, an ad voiced by Rivers for beer or some other place ran four times in a row. Then came the station ID which ran two times. What in the heck is going on here guys? :(

The show is Dawson Mcallister live. It's a teen/young adult-oriented call-in show. It used to run primarily on religious and/or talk stations, but ever since changing syndicators to Premiere Radio Network his show is airing on numerous music stations across the country. http://dmlive.com/ Some of the music stations in the area that air the show include KISS 108 in Boston, HOT 99.5 in DC, COAST 93.3 in Providence, Z 100 in NYC, Q-102 in Philly, B-104 in Allentown, and JAMZ 96.3 in Albany.

Not having heard the show to know if it has commercials or not, I'm going to assume it does and say, Didn't you know? Religion is big business.

I never really understood the shift of Dawson McAllister from Christian stations to CHR... Originally i chalked it up to Clear Channel sticking it wherever they had room for it once the show signed on with Premiere. After listening to the show a few times however, it does cater to the teen crowd, and what better place to find them than CHR stations?

Dawson McAllister has had a huge response on CHR stations in almost every market that it's been put on the air...including here. The content and calls are phenomonal and relate extremely well to our target demographic. Dawson's presentation is what makes the show successful in my opinion. It fills a generally boring programming night (on pretty much every station - Sunday nights) with compelling content.

Many in the industry were skeptical about the show working on CHR when it first was pushed; but the ratings and response have been nothing short of excellent.
