Wilks Denver

Can anyone straighten out for uswhat's happening at Wilks Denver cluster? There are so many rumors about people, formats, selling the cluster, filing chapter 11, etc.

On that other site, the opinions overflow. Anyone have the facts? Frye? Frye? Bueller? Bueller?

I'm exactly sure whats going on either but I'm going to try and explain what I kinda know. Cha Cha is no longer at KOOL and there is a guy named Greg Cassidy that is possibly the new Operations manager for the cluster and supposibly the new PD for KOOL. Jay Cruze the afternoon guy from The Wolf has left. So thats all I heard. Maybe somebody can correct me if I didn't say it right or something. As for the Chapter 11 rumor I have heard that one too. When did you hear about the Format rumor and what did they say?

i wouldn't buy the chapter 11 rumor. sounds like they are re-tooling, probably overdue.

Cha gone, Cruze gone, Jo Jo gone. Sales fine. "some guy" is the ex Mix Pd from 3 years ago and the PD that created the Alice format in Denver which spread and won across the country. Brenda Goodrich is the gm replacing the skirt chasing jackass that was there previously. Is chapter 11 in the works only Wilks knows for sure. Wolf will now have Johnathan and Mudflap in the AM plus a couple of bit players for no apparent reason. A lot of new including a move to a location closer to Shotgun Willies. What ever you read on the amatuer board these are the facts. Another fact; it was a horrible place to work for on air staff. It is making money.

i read that they've moved mark andrew from kool to mix, he had been doing mornings on kool, who is doing mornings, and is there anyone on the air live (or VT)at kool? curious ???

Steve McCoy is now on mornings. Interesting in that he comes here from Hotlanta where he had replaced Kelly and Alpha who also did a stint at Kool. Greg Cassidy (om/pd) is the PM driver. I have no clue where Mark went, hopefully he replaced that waste of air chick that was on after they pulled the rug on Leann.

I don't think Steve McCoy has been on in Denver before. He came to Atlanta (where I live) in 1981 from Nashville, doing mornings at then-CHR Z93. When Power 99 took over as the big CHR in the late 80s, he moved there to do mornings. Then he went to KVIL in Dallas in afternoon drive, apparently being groomed to eventually take over mornings from Ron Chapman. After a year at KVIL, he came back to Atlanta to join Star 94, which had taken the CHR crown from Power 99 and was there for 17 years, most of that time with a partner (Steve & Vikki). After Star didn't renew their contract in 2006, Steve (& Vikki) joined B98.5, the Cox AC. He was there for a year and a half.

with a background like that it just YELLS...put this guy on an OLDIES STATION.

Kelly and Alpha were at Kool then went to Atlanta. This is McCoys first time here. Maybe he will last more than the 9 months the last 6 morning shows recieved.
