Will 100.7 Mix FM, ad a HD Mix fm 2 Channel

With more stations going to HD radio, and adding a second channel for programing, Most Noticably Power 96 in Miami adding a second Dance Channel For Dance music. Also Channel 95 in Detroit is adding a second channel for Dance. I could see Mix fm doing this in the coming years, since Mix fm has a Strong history of Being Dance friendly, and still is to a point. I know that Mix fm doesnt have an HD signal as of yet, but that doesnt mean they wont get it in the future. B 106.3 in Fort Wayne is actually more Dance Friendly than Mix, but I cant see them even going High Def, I dont think B106.3 will be around that much longer with its numbers, which is too bad, cause I like that Station, (playlist wise)

I could see it in Mix's case. They still have that Image of that era when they did the Rhythmic based CHR.

But the REAL question lies with the other Indiana CHRs. Notably WSTO, WDKS, WNOU, WZPL, ETC ETC.

I dont really see any of the Indianapolis stations Flirting with anything Dance. WNOU never really embraced dance.. I mean, they did, but the dance songs they played at the time, were also on every other CHR station in the country. Stuff like Danial bedingfield, Sonique, Dirty Vegas, Dj Sammy. If im not mistaken WNOU still has the same P.D they had in Early 00, And he does not Beleive in Dance Music. And if Wzpl launched a Sub Channel, it would likely be a FUll Fledged CHR, or maybe a New and Upcoming artists Channel, something of the sorts. If Indiana gets anything Dance, it will likely (NOT BE IN NAPTOWN), as Indianas smaller cities have been more exposed to dance over the years, Even When WMGI was almost pure dance, The Town had (NO) Clubs for Dance music...NOTTA Nothing.... So a strong, or absence of Club Scene, wont always make or break ya, I dont care what they say.

Nah, Oldies is the only way to go. Its the obvious Format Hole. Besides that, why would they launch a station that might cut into the Z-995 audience. Dance will never be a considered format in Indy, unless another Company moves in, and grows a set of ballz. They need to flip WKLU 101.9 to Dance, or maybe 93.9 The Song would be a better Dance Frequency, but we will all be dead before that happens. BLOOMINGTON is where the DANCE Audience lives, and we have clubs, So I think B-Town would be the best place for Dance to be successful. They could put dance on the WTTS translator at 95.9, the signal covers bloomington pretty decent with 27 watts, but Cmon, they dont need a translator for 92.3, it has a monster signal.

WTTS used to be heavy dance many many years back. A HD secondary channel on 92.3 with Dance could easly penitrate the Indy market.

Oldies may be the hole in the market, but, after WXTZ switched away from Beautiful Music that was the hole in the market. How long did the "new" WXTZ on 93.9 last? Not long, as I recall. WHIO-FM in Dayton switched its BM to Country in 1989, WPTW-FM in Piqua re-imaged as "Clear 95" and that BM format lasted less than two years.<P ID="signature">______________

Nope, different PD. I couldn't tell you who the PD of WNOU was in early 2000 without going back and looking at old Mediabase Tuned-In Monitor logs, but I can tell you that the current PD, Chris Edge, has only been there probably two years, at the most. I think he arrived from WDCG / Raleigh, NC in late 2003?<P ID="signature">______________
