Will 104.5 DJs return?

Now that Susquehanna has been sold, will Cumulus want to put the oldies format back on 104.5 that was so successful? Will the former Gold 104.5 jocks who are now at the rimshot station in Franklin return to Shadeland?

I doubt it. We'll likely see one of two things happen with Cumulus and Jack. Either Cumulus will take the time to learn the Jack format and will have a corporate brand manager in charge of the format or they will nuke their Jack stations quickly. If the second one happens, I would not, however, look for a return of Gold 104.5. It's possible, but not likely.

I wouldn't necessarily bank on it. Cumulus has a few Christian formatted stations, though they usually outsource the programming. Whether or not 93.9 survives will depend on the bottom line and the potential viability of other formats.

I suppose anything is possible, but my friends who already work for Cumulus say that the more like outcome will be a smaller staff, not a larger one. I guess we'll see.<P ID="signature">______________
