Will 2009 WABC Rewound be on 95.5 WPLJ HD2 or HD3?

With a week to go before next Monday Memorial Day, can somebody please answer this question once and for all; what HD componet of 95.5 WPLJ will the
2009 Music Radio WABC Rewound be simalcasted over? 95.5 WPLJ HD2, or
77 AM News Talk Radio WABC's Sister Station 95.5 HD3?

So will WABC Rewound 2009 be on WPLJ 95.5 HD2 or HD3 on Memorial Day? ???
The WABC 2009 Rewound will appear on WPLJ 95.5 FM HD3 on Memorial Day Monday 5/25/09 according to David Hinckley's article in the N.Y. Daily News on Wed. 5/20/09. Oddly there is no specific time posted in the article; I would assume based on past years that the 12 segments will air between 6AM & 6PM Eastern Time.
According to Peter Kanze in an earlier "dentist's board" posting, it will run commercial free. There will (most likely) be no live streaming of the broadcast, being as WPLJ HD3 doesn't have its own "Listen Live" link (and would normally be the replication of the WABC-AM live stream, which will be streaming WABC-AM's TalkRadio broadcast on Memorial Day Monday 5/25/09). Plus, as mentioned in other posts, podcasts of the 12 segments (which can be accessed/heard at the listener's convenience via the website www.wabcradio.com) will become available on Friday 5/22/09 at 4PM Eastern Time.

In other words, this program isn't on the radio.

Since not many people have an HD radio and no one is going to be sitting in front of their PC all weekend, no one will be listening.

Its a shame.

I wouldn't say that nobody will be listening to WABC Rewound. The shows will be archived so you can listen anytime. It was mentioned in David Hickley's article that there are tapes available for 2010.

On which stream is this rewound?

There's no streaming of "Rewound 2009". Either download podcasts of each segment (there are 12 of them) at WABC's Rewound Web page (now available): http://www.wabcradio.com/sectional.asp?id=33049 or listen live over-the-air with an HD Radio on Monday 5/25/09 to the WPLJ-FM-95.5 HD3 channel in New York. No specific time is listed on the WABC website or in David Hinckley's N.Y. Daily News articles: http://www.nydailynews.com/entertai...unning_rewound_returns_on_the_web_and_hd.html and http://www.nydailynews.com/entertai...ew_york_radio_stations_plan_memorial_day.html, but if form holds, it will probably air between 6AM & 6PM Eastern Time. This year's version will air commercial-free. On Monday 5/25/09 the "listen live" link on www.wabcradio.com (http://gateway.andohs.net/player/?sid=826&nid=2920) will be streaming the talk radio programming that will be airing on WABC-AM-770 New York.

The good news about this...I don't have to record airchecks off the radio this year.
The bad news...it just won't feel real
It would be great if CBS-FM picks this up next year. Just like in the 80s, when CBS-FM picked up the Musicradio audience.

Be happy that WABC is doing something. In Chicago WLS which for the last several years brought back many of their old DJs for Memorial Day
shows has dropped it completely.

Bruce

I think Towerclimber is referring to listening "live".

Yes, I was.....

I did check one out on line. The suspense was killing me.

And the WABC signal was booming up here in the "Forge" last night.
