Will 46-54 Soon Get The Axe?

The Rolling Stones (ages 60+) will play during the Super Bowl halftime show this year. The NFL wants to put 2,000 fans on the field. But to qualify, the fans must be between the ages of 18 and 45. I guess television thinks that anyone over 45 "skews too old". If you think that radio sounds bad now, just wait until they drop their demo to 45!
Edited by TheFonz on 01/06/06 04:15 AM.

I thought that only ticketholders to the game had a chance to get on the field for the halftime musical performances.

An article in my morning newspaper states that "The NFL caved in to baby boom pressure and dropped the age cap". Could that mean "buying" pressure? All of you elderly people out there..........rejoice! There IS a way to change the sound of your local Oldies station.

No. Actually, the 2,000 people will be recruited separatly and will not see the game live. They will watch it on TV from a special location at or near the stadium.

The age cap made no sense to me. The vast majority of Stones' fans are over 45. My guess is that they (NFL) didn't want to make the halftime show look like an AARP convention. Seems no matter what they do they screw it up.
