ESPN, or some other sports channel? I'm pretty certain that local stations near State College will carry games. But I am curious if any national networks will.

While unfortunate, Penn State's football program is going to be scarred for the next decade at minimum.
While slightly OT, I think the NCAA's stripping of Paterno's wins dating back to 1998 was a bit excessive. I think the post season ban and scholarship restrictions were fair though.

Penn State has never had a local TV package here in Pennsylvania (aside from a Sunday morning highlights show that ran many moons ago). Mostly they are seen on ABC/ESPN, and more recently the Big Ten Network.
I agree with ESPN/ABC however I can see Big Ten Network picking up some games for national broadcast though (Especially if Penn State is having a winning season)Natheodan said:Considering that they are Bowl ineligible for the next 4 years, I don't see ABC/ESPN or Big Ten Network showing many PSU games outside of the local area with the exception for conference games in other Big Ten cities.
Agreed. Besides, who's to say that EVEN IF Joe Paterno had done what the Syracuse Basketball coach did when he found out about the goings on involving one of his assistants, Joe wouldn't have found someone else who's just as good as Jerry Sandusky & HE WOULD HAVE GOTTEN THOSE WINS ANYWAY ?? ... the whole issue is the failure of Paterno to take appropriate action and of the university administrator's cover-up. It had nothing to do with the football program itself or any of the players.
Regardless of what the NCAA says you cannot unring a bell. The football teams won those games fair and square and removing them from the record is both unfair and stupid.
I don't even care about sports and I agree with these statements.landtuna said:I would use the term "ludicrous" instead of "excessive" to describe the loss of PSU's wins. Regardless of what the NCAA says you cannot unring a bell. The football teams won those games fair and square and removing them from the record is both unfair and stupid. But then the NCAA has never been a paragon of common sense.
