R. Kelly ( F Ludacris,Kid Rock )- Rock Star .

After listening to a 30 second clip of that song, I can say with metaphysical certitude I extremely doubt that any Rock station (at least in this universe) would go anywhere near it! :)

Here in Boston, WBCN Played Outkast ( Dont know why ) and alot of Rock stations played songs from Cypress Hill ,Slim Shady, and The Roots .

Outkast, Eminem and The Roots all have some sort of place on Alternative. Like the Beastie Boys, they take hip-hop to a new level, adding in elements of different musical genres while making their music original and innovative in some form. I may not be the biggest fan of those bands personally but I feel they are interesting and make a good change of pace. You can add Cypress Hill to that list as well.

On the other hand, I don't see how even Active Rock stations (particularly in the Northeast) play anything with Kid Rock in it. I think even Godsmack fans think he's lame...

I would definitely add Kanye to the list of hip-hop artists who deserve a place on alternative radio. His latest huge single was being slammed at Q101, and rightly so, the Daft Punk production makes it fit in with their format, as a great 'change of pace' track. Playing spare hip-hop that is tasteful goes a Long way to adding depth and complexity to a modern rocker's sound. Think of how boring and formulaic the consultant-driven FallOutBoy/PearlJam/PlainWhiteT's stations sound. You're never surprised, and you're almost always bored. It's like elevator music for the 21st century.

And I've heard some rock stations, albeit alternative, play Gnarls Barkley in secondary rotation. Some stations will probably give the R.Kelly/Kid Rock song a spin or two, probably if they have that dealie where they put one song up against another and have the listeners vote which one stays.

Gnarls Barkley's "Crazy" was a huge alternative rock hit last year, although it seemed that just about all of Clear Channel's "alternative" stations didn't touch it (with a few exceptions). As far as an R. Kelly/Kid Rock song, I'm thinking no. I think the rap-rock thing has died out for the most part. Especially with R. Kelly. Kid Rock, IMHO, doesn't belong on alternative rock stations anyway, he's more of an active rock artist. The song will probably find life on MTV and eventually top 40 radio, but that's about it.
