Will CC do it here in Columbus?

Doubt it, CC already has Rush on their OWN station and WTVN does well enough in the ratings its not worth flipping an FM to talk at this time.

Even with their crappy nighttime signal to the east, west, and south at night?

If AM/FM radio ends up having to pay performance royalties on every song they play and for every listener listening like Internet Radio has to do now, then we may see all but the very big stations flip to a talk format. The cost is outrageous and I'm certain terrestrial radio wouldn't put up with it. Of course, they can't get an actual count of listeners but I'm sure they would base it on market share, coverage area, and revenue. :'(

Clear Channel/Premiere just removed Rush Limbaugh from 2 20 year affiliates in Raleigh and Greensboro and then flipped some FM stations to Talk with Rush being on those station now as reported on radio-info this morning. Will we see CC flipping one of the FM's here in Columbus to a WTVN simulcast?

Someone called into the Chuck Douglas show last Sunday night and requested the P.D. move his show from Sunday to M-F at 7-10 PM.
He then suggested to Mr. Douglas, that the TVN P.D. drop the Sean Hannity show, now on from 7-10PM, to accommodate his show
on the weekdays. A couple of months ago, another person called is requesting C.C. Columbus drop sports on it's 1230 AM and replace
it with ALL local talk show hosts M-F 24/7. It would be a joke to place all local talk on 1230 AM but it may work on one of CC Columbus
FM stations. So, what about placing all local takers on the FM band and all the syndicated talkers on 610 AM in Columbus. This way,
more local talker can appear on the FM band, and all the BIG syndicated talkers will still have the advantage of the strong 610 AM
signal in Columbus. The BIG syndicated talkers would not want to be placed on 1230 AM to accommodate all LOCAL talk show on
610, as the listener suggested a couple of months ago. I'm surprised Chuck Douglas was able to keep a straight face during that call.:D

Yes, I agree that Chuck Douglas is very deserving of more talk time on the radio and Columbus deserves more local talk show hosts on
the radio.

BTY, than to the radio-info editors for reviving the emotions icons.8) They were missed by a lot of us.

I appreciate the kind words. Thank you.
Radio evolves and anything is possible...I keep telling myself those two things!
