I know the first "C" in CC allegedly stands for 'cheap', and Clear Channel's treatment of the Golden Triangle cluster speaks volumes, engineering-wise. For weeks now, KCOL-FM's audio has been distorted, I believe, at the transmitter location. The only reason I think this is that the audio online sounds fine, but I suppose it could be something at the studio as well. I mentioned this to someone who works there who essentially said they knew about the problem and nothing was being done about it.
At some point, if you're an advertiser on this station, do you pull your advertising because you know the station is just plain unlistenable for any length of time? Maybe then CC will spend some money on some engineering time from their Houston cluster and get the problem fixed. Or maybe not. Their other Triangle stations, while not as bad, have problems as well. The irony here is that KCOL is the highest rated CC station in the area.
