Will Citadel-Disney keep Indiana?

With the recent merger of Citadel and Disney do you think they will keep their stations in Kokomo and Muncie? The whole reason they got those in the first place was because it came as part of the package with other stations they purchased. I hate to say this, but let the guessing games begin.

I think it has been widely reported that the Disney stations (98.3 Plainfield) and the ESPN 0&0's are not a part of the ABC/Citadel transaction.

Or are you speculating that Citadel will dump WWKI and WMDH?

If so, why do you say that?

I get the impression he's referring to WWKI and WMDH. The reason he's wondering about their fate is because Citadel has said they intend to sell off their smallest markets after the ABC deal is complete.

Citadel IS NOT selling its Indiana properties.

IT IS selling properties in Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arkansas, South Carolina, Maine, Michigan and Louisiana.

No word on the EXACT stations to be sold.

All ABC owned stations that have Radio Disney & ESPN are not part of the sale. So WRDZ-FM Plainfield will continue to be owned by ABC/Disney. I don't know if ABC owns any other stations in Indiana that might have ESPN on them, or Radio Disney. Just like in Chicago, WRDZ-AM LaGrange/Chicago & WMVP Chicago aren't being sold to Citadel, but WLS-AM & WZZN however are.

Actually, the list has been public for quite some time. You can view it here: http://svartifoss2.fcc.gov/cgi-bin/...xt=25&appn=101160092&formid=314&fac_num=48596. There are rumors Citadel may also divest WKY 930 in Oklahoma City as well as KARN 920 and KPZK in Little Rock as some of the FM's simulcast those properties, but that's unconfirmed. If they're not either divested or temporarily placed in the trust, those FM's that simulcast will need to change formats. Also, it is possible that Citadel could end up divesting other stations if it needed to throw in something bigger and better to swap for something more interesting. Citadel's first priority is getting this deal done.

Also, Farid Suleman has repeatedly said he expects Citadel to divest its "non-core" properties in its smallest markets. Whether that means Indiana or that deals are eminent, I don't know. However, you can read it straight from his mouth. Here's a transcript of a conference call he had about a year ago: http://media.seekingalpha.com/article/7105

I would not expect Citadel to hang on to its Indiana stations based on what I've heard. The markets are simply too small for their strategic plan.
