Will Cliff go back to KJLH?

With his "real" radio gig ending for the 2nd time in his career(he was at KKBT 92.3 when it first started and then got fired by Glenn :D), will he crawl back to that little Compton station? Will that R&B singer Stevie Wonder even want him back? Urban Insite has had a lotta people say no way in hell and it looks like the numbers for Guy Black are starting to go up after falling below a 1 share. I still think Guy isn't LA material, but if his numbers are rebounding, Stevie might not be desperate for Cliff to administrate CPR on the morning show. :D

But I diegress. Your thoughts?

I am digressing a bit more. Since there are pockets of people in this area who are an audience for various genres' of music how do you reach them all. To borrow loosely from that ill fated Mexican ad for Vodka, in an Absolut world (like the past) when you had the so called Ghettos a class A FM in Compton could reach the majority of it's intended audience. A Mount Wilson stick reaching the entire (or at least a major portion of) region with a greater population, which maybe doesn't care for what they offer, couldn't expect high ratings. How do you get what people want to those who do considering how the business runs and ads are placed?

Is satellite the answer? How about HD channels? Or do the people who are partial to any particular type of programming just suck it up and go with the flow?

What do you all think?

To take a stab at your central question that would depend on relations with all parties involved, contracts if any and the money asked. Stevie Wonder is devoted to his community, puts his money where he lives, so unless the other factors are insurmoutable he could very well take Cliff back. He is not after all a mini Clear Channel or CBS he is a station owner, with a capital O.

I will be surprised if Cliff does not rejoin KJLH. Sort of a radio icon to the black community in L.A..

Cliff has done many formats in his career including Top 40 so he isn't limited to just doing black/urban. He's a true radio professional and good guy.

For the record, when (Big) John Monds was pd at 92.3 The Beat he demoted Cliff Winston from afternoons to public service director and weekends. Of course, that was done just to push Cliff out who was still under contract.
