Will Coast Hurt Sister Star?

I say yes Coast 96.7 will hurt Star99.9. They are both AC and owned by Cox Radio. Star does sound more kind of like a Hot AC then the new Coast so their is a difference. Coast also does play some AC songs Star plays.

Also to note while I had the station on for awhile I heard the traffic report and that person said their name. It is the guy that does traffic on Lite 100.5 WRCH. Just interesting he would be on a Cox and CBS station.

The traffic reporters on WRCH - Bill Rapp in the Morning and Dave Bell in the afternoon both work for Metro Networks, which suppluy traffic to lots of Radio stations.

96.7 is not very strong as you go east on I95 towards the Bridgeport area, which is where Star 99.9 serves.<P ID="signature">______________

Tue enough...I live in Fairfield and both come in very well...108 comes in loud and clear at least down to Greenwich, 96.7 starts to fade east of Bridgeport.... so the entire "area" of 96.7 has to compete with 108...this is basically a WEBE clone. Hard to see how it benefits 96.7....the oldies listeners from afar who tuned in b/c it was their only outlet will now leave to listen to their respective AC's, ( ie Walk 97.5, 103.9 WFAS, 100.5 etc etc,) so ratings are likely to go down...whether they increase on the ever important 25-54 demo remains to be seen, but I listened all day today and it was downright staid, boring, and predictable....might as well go to the better brand WEBE 108 for that!
