We don't even have an AM all news station. And WTIC cancelled the all news-block that aired 3PM in favor of The Crook and The Priest. (John Rowland and Reverand whatever his name is. I don't listen to the show).

We'll probably end up with an all syndicated talk station on FM once 97.9 completes its move from Springfield to Hartford. :mad:

Hahahaha.Crook and the priest.Yes I've been reading about the all syndicated deal with 97.9 here.But I rather see all news instead of crap talk shows about negitive problems of the world.

Clear Channel's never been known to spend money on news... I'd rather they not even try. You could see talk on that 97.9, but without Rush (and trust me, they won't get him from 'TIC) I don't think that's much of a draw. I could see CC doing music on 97.9, but who knows what.

Interesting theory. I don't think that a 24/7 all news station would work, but a hybrid might: News for the AM and PM drive and talk from 9-3 and 6-midnight. "The crook and the whatever his name is"? That's good and accurate. I like it.

Don't see it happening. WTIC's news/talk format does well on 1080 plus having UCONN and Red Sox baseball. And I don't see CBS Radio moving 1080 to the FM dial anytime soon. Lite, Hot, TIC aren't going anywhere.

Good question to ask. If CBS Radio was going to own 97.9 what would they do with it? Put WTIC 1080 on it or make it a music format?

How about "the prisoner and the preacher"?

Maybe WTIC should fire the pastor, then seek out a descendant of the family that previously owned the station years ago, and team him/her up with Rowland.

Then, they can call the show "Crook And Chase."

(I know... a stretch! ::) )

That would work with Rowland and the current Chief Justice of the CT Supreme Court, too!
