Will Cumulus fix 93.9 in Indianapolis

Susquehanna had finally came up with something that worked on 93.9 in Indy and around the Cumulus purchase of the company 93.9 went down-hill. It was decided that the signal would become talk and it failed and now the new AC format is doing poorly in the ratings. Is there possibly any chance that Cumulus might reinstate the Christian AC format on 93.9 because it was more successful than the past 2 formats. Does it just make too much sense to happen?

K-LOVE 90.5 has become pretty well established since 93.9 left the format. As evidence of that, Indy is one of the highest fulfilled cities in their recent pledge drive per klove.com. And like 93.9, WIKL has a B1 CP in hand to improve their signal. If Cumulus has no other Christian Contemporary signals in their stable, I aomehow doubt this will be the first.

what improvement will KLOVE do to their signal? They barely
touch northside...WQME 98.7 & GNR do much better for Indy at this
point. Both have music - GNR more talk/programs. Cumulus will
continue with WARM...tfn...till furthur new format comes around.

WIKL has a construction permit to move their tower into northern Morgan county, along I-70. Projected 60dbu coverage: http://svartifoss2.fcc.gov/prod/cdbs/forms/prod/getattachment_exh.cgi?exhibit_id=509458

Awful long way from Greencastle, though. Does this CP involve a COL change?

I hope Catholic radio stays on the Filmore stick. Its a beautiful tower in a beautiful setting. </fybush>

But if fixing 93.9 involves putting CCM back on it, they will leave it broken.

Beautiful tower but every time I put a new toolbox out there some crackhead breaks in and takes it! An 8 foot security fence and security monitoring didn't keep the hoodlums out.

At least 4 break-ins in the past few years. Quiet lately.

Any move that places it less than 2 hours from my house gets my vote!

No CoL change, still Greencastle. To be honest though, WIKL, even with the upgrade is still a pretty bad signal.

WQME would make a near perfect compliment to WIKL and school-owned radio stations are quickly becoming a thing of the past. It would not be surprising if WQME is on the block within a few years and it would also not be surprising if EMF was the winning bidder.

WIKL is one of those oddball signals that seems to perform better in reality than in theory. Putnam County is a stretch for a B to be useful in Indy...let alone a B1. I just hope the new signal works equal or better to what's there now. No clue on when it will be built, but if I were a bettin' man, I'd say it will be after WRTV 6 goes away so it can be built with circular polarity.
