As we're all whining about CC making cuts, whom had higher rated stations, one has to especially wonder about Emmis. Come on, you know they ain't making budget over there especially with KMVN in the toliet. I say fire everybody at KMVN and go Rock or spanish and get $10 an hour help. That should help them get back to profitbility fast.

You are not going to compete at $10 an hour with a Spanish langauge station when the morning shows are in the six and seven figures and the rest of the shifts are, on the average, better paid at all stations than general market's averages. If anything, competing in Spanish is as hard or harder, personnel wise, than the English equivalents.

Reagrdless, Emmis has two issues which was the point of my post. Cost structure and lack of revenue. Being a Union station, they spend too much money paying out talent, they need to bring it in line with what other clusters do. Revenue needs to be improved too and the only way to do that is dump KMVN entirely including Dees as well as the union.

So you say $10 a hour isn't sufficient Eduardo, but what about Part Timers? What do they make at say, KSCA or KLVE?

A lot more than $10. When I was PD of KTNQ, we paid around $25 an hour. And all the stations today are live all weekend, too.

Hey David, clarify please. Is that part time air talent? or part time board op/street team?
