Will FM Snooze Channel Loose the Snooze?

Rumor has it FM "News" Channel is about to switch names to "Super Talk 97.5". (worked well for State Senator Dan Patrick at KPRC) They have also been sniffing around other syndicated talk to replace their PM drive and AM drive news. I guess since their ratings suck they realized they can't beat KTRH for local news and KUHF for long and really boring news. Is Jim Carolla's 100k over payment at an end? Will Mike Shiloh's reign of morning error almost at an end? What will happen to Belinda Babinak and Laurie Kendrick?Now that Cumulus and Susquehanna have merged I guess the spending on bad talent is over.

Substitute IS for WILL and the sentence should be fine, but the message was clear enough anyway. One can only hope that the plug is pulled on 97.5, but I don't think Houston needs another talk station unless 97.5 goes with Air America. Houston is the only large Texas city that does not have Air America on a local station. I'm sure the ratings for Air America will top the ratings of the current mess from KFNC.Who, if anyone was responsible for KFNC's programming? They sure missed a golden opportunity with their Saturday Night Live Newscasts and sorry talk shows. If they had been a real News station that you could listen to and take seriously and had programmed the news 24/7 KFNC probably would have made it and pulled some decent ratings even with the signal handicap.

And Pat Fant's only successes since the 80's are as a casket salesman. So a traffic reader and a casket seller running things explains why KFNC and KIOL suck as bad as they do. And Cumulus let Mark Schecterle go and kept "casket boy"? Explains a lot doesn't it. If you want good radio they are not the people to call. But if you are dead or dying Laurie can get you to the cemetary on time and Fant can at least get you into the ground in style.
 
This topic should be titled, "Whye Cleer Chanel Mangement Should'nt Be Alowed To Post Mesages". :eek:I don't mean to beat this subject to death, but what radio needs, in general, are personalities. Not bean counters in San Antonio, or Atlanta, or New York calling the shots for local stations. But that's what you have with these mega communications companies. We need to roll the law back and have a massive selloff of properties, forced if need be, by a change in the law so that these companies may only own two stations per market. In this scenario, what stations would these companies keep? Would CC or Infinity even keep an AM property?

I posted something broadcasted on KFNC last week but it seems to have disappeared.Guess the mods are delete happy.
