Will Frankenstorm challenge the Radio Business Model

The new rules you cite are for EAS activation. That's a very small part of the coverage for an event like this, which goes on for days. So, you're saying that radio stations should go back to regular programming once the EAS portion of the emergency is over? Yeah, that's helpful for the community. I know, they can get all the info they need from their cell phones, right? And from the Internet. BTW, that last part is sarcasm. I wouldn't want you to misunderstand.

You said that the "new rules" and "revised procedures" set up "10 years ago", along with GM "community contacts", would be able to handle the needs of communities under emergency situations. The "new rules" and "revised procedures" relate to EAS. What about after EAS activation ends? You're still left with stations that need individuals to coordinate the level of involvement and support that the community needs at that point. Well, there are a LOT of stations that don't have anybody left on staff with that expertise these days. Unless, of course, your community-connected GM is going to coordinate and anchor that coverage.

The rules don't go beyond the actual EAS activation. You're not responding to the point of the discussion.

The storm took place exactly one week ago, and the job done by radio stations in the affected areas was highly praised.
