Will Gary Owens resurface on 1260?

Owens does have a close relationship with Saul Levine, most recently as the mail voice guy for KNNZ/KNNS (K-News). Owens is still under contract with Music of Your Life, as well as WInk Martindale. If either one winds up at KKGO, they would have to work around that.

Don Barret's wwww.laradio.com says GO on KKGO 2-5p.
No word as to live or VT
______________
but wait...there's more!

If I can figure this out here is how the schedule would look once in place:

6-10a Nick Gerard (no Change)
10a-2p Mark Morris
2-5p Gary Owens
5-9p John Regan
9-10p When Radio Was
10p-2a Mike Johnson
2-3a When Radio Was (replay)
2-5a Mr. Selector, I guess
5-6a Bartered vitamin show

There is no one that can figure out the quirky Saul Levine. Perhaps the Music of Your Life will return to the City. It was there once before right?

Yes.

From today's All Access:

""An old friend is coming home," Adult Standards simulcast KKGO-A/LOS ANGELES-XESURF-A/SAN DIEGO announced on DECEMBER 30, and it's radio legend GARY OWENS, joining the lineup for 2-5p PT weekdays (taking an hour from the end of middayer MARK MORRIS' show and shifting afternooner JOHN REGAN to 5-9p), according to LARADIO.COM. The REGAN move displaces the first two hours of MIKE JOHNSON's split shift, with JOHNSON dropping his 7-9p hours but retaining 10p-2a.

OWENS was heard on crosstown CLEAR CHANNEL-operated Adult Standards XETRA-A (FABULOUS 690) until last week; that station will shortly be flipping to Spanish Talk under new operator GRUPO PRISA."

Heard him yesterday afternoon, 1/3/06. The show was voice-tracked unfortunately but it sounds much better than the 690 production. I just wish he could give out the time of day or day of the week ... something to better simulate a live performance as that would better enable the personality to 'keep the audience company.' G.O. made the transition to a new station withouot any down time- great!

Re: Outstanding!

If my answering machine can give the Day and Time, so could Gary! Each voice track could end with a time stamp I suppose, but soon you would wish that would stop. Had the pleasure of being his Engineer once, and he was and still is the best!
