Now that Entercom has left a huge hole in the "Guy talk" catergory... will Infinty be smart and get Leykis back and start a new talk station for guys here in Seattle? Your thoughts...

I guess it all depends on which Infinity FM station needs an overhaul. Wouldn't make much sense to mess with JACK-FM right now or KZOK. Maybe KBKS, perhaps?<P ID="signature">______________

KISW will probably be FM talk soon so it wouldn't make much sense for Infinity to head in that direction. Of course once JACK runs its course maybe Infinity will take Leykis and take on 99.9.

I was surprised how many times Steve Slayton referred to "the changes on the FM dial" on Friday. He reiterated, over and over, that he did not anticipate any changes to KZOK. I am a big fan of Slayton, as are a lot of people. I have no doubt that the Infinity station with the lowest ratings would be at greatest risk for such a change. The question for KZOK is whether or not they are doing enough, outside of the Bob Rivers show, to maintain their classic rock status. I think they are. Even though a lot of stations play classic rock, KZOK does it better than other stations. There is an appreciation on 102.5 of music that never seems to be paralleled by other stations, and they should hold their own as a result.

The big risk with Leykis is altering a format when his regular contract ends in April, 2007. Would another station want to take a chance on a show, or a format change overall, when the talk show that is most prized only offers a guarantee of being around for fifteen months at the most? If FREE FM were to happen here, it had better happen pretty quickly. Odds are Entercom will hang onto Leykis, playing him from 10-2 until the ratings for Miles and Thrill come out. He will move into their spot in a heartbeat if the ratings don't justify playing Tom on tape delay.

Where going badly seems a strong possibility since virtually all vocal listeners of theirs are hating them playing so much music, and virtually all vocal KISW listeners are hating them talking!

Then the question becomes, do they kill the KISW listeners totally by putting Leykis on in drive? Or leave Tom languishing on tape delay until (not unless, until) someone else takes him live and thus away from them?

I can not see any of these outcomes as anything other than utter stupidity at Entercom. Let's see, kill the Buzz so they can have a crack at country, then kill KISW by turning it into - THE BUZZ!

So why not just keep the Buzz and turn KISW country? Seems the end result of this extremely more convoluted route could well turn out to be the same in the long run...

Just my misc ramblings

Entercom should just pull a "practical" joke and when The Wolf runs out of it's 10,000 songs, Bring The BUZZ back on 100.7 with some minor adjustments and flip KISW country...KISW reminds me of our heritage classic rocker, Journal's KJOT/Boise..."35 Years and Still Rockin'" is like the moral in the Wedding Singer..."Who wants to be Fonzie when they are 50??...Nobody...because that's not cool anymore"...Seattle is already over-saturated with rock formats...

If you already have egg on your face, why not make it a double??...

"Seattle is already over-saturated with rock formats..."

How so? There is one Rock station in Seattle and that is KISW...KFNK doesn't reach Seattle worth anything and is only a minor player in the South Sound...KNDD is alternative, which is hardly rock despite what any of them might say...KGRG? Are you couting them maybe? How is Seattle "over-saturated with rock"?
