Will Jack FM have deejays in the long run?

I don't believe 101.1 Jack FM will have any deejays. If they do, they will probably put a bunch of liner card readers on the air or have a morning show that insults the audience. After all isn't that what Jack does between songs?

I don't think Infinity wants to pay a lot to real talent. Look at who they got rid of last month. People like Harry Harrison, Cousin Brucie, Bill Brown, Bob Shannon and Bobby Jay among others. Do you really think they will replace them with outstanding jocks? I don't.

I also believe Jack in New York is designed to make the music the primary element that they feel will draw the audience in and not news, weather, traffic, time or any conversation from deejays.

Time will tell if I'm right.

They will not have dj's. This has been well established already in previous threads, none of Infinity's Jack FMs have dj's...

> It's NYC, how can you not have DJs? We will see.

I thought there were reports stating that all Infinity Jacks were looking to have an on-air lineup ready to go by this coming Labor Day.

I dont know about NYC but the talent pool in Chicago is real crappy, hopefully they dont hire any DJ's here.

Isn't the whole Jack concept supposed to be jockless, so they can compete with eh-eh-eh.

Well once they add jocks, they just fall off that whole "like your ipod on shuffle" attitude and just become another Variety station that are a dime a dozen... if they add jocks it just proves the idea was a failure. why would people listen to something like an ipod, thats not songs they want and has a ton of commercials with no useful information. So I doubt they'd add jocks.

But I thought the whole idea of the original Canadian Jack's were that the station had an irrelivant personality hence the name, and jocks to deliver the attitude. In my opinion the Canadian Jacks are far superior in very sense of the station.<P ID="signature">______________

If you read the ''Variety Hits'' board on this website, those who preach the Jack Gospel will tell you jocks ruin the idea of the format..I doubt your average listener misses D-Js on Jack stations, or cares if they're added or not..you're better off not having them, period..
