Will Jazz Return to the Airwaves in Detroit??

There's an HD Smooth Jazz station on 98.7 HD2. I don't see it returning to Detroit FM. Someone may give it a try on AM, but I'm not holding my breath.

Martz Communications made a real effort in 2011-2012 with 'The Oasis' but was bounced because of interference claims from a Toledo station.

I'd love to have it back, but at least there is the HD signal.

As long as Alan Kepler and Broadcast Architecture is involved, the product that they call Smooth AC will continue to suck and no radio group will chance it. After all, he is the one that killed the format to begin with, which is why NO ONE broadcasts the format anymore. You can't tell AK anything. He knows everything there is to know about Smooth Jazz (he thinks he invented it), and whatever he SAYS is smooth jazz, IS smooth jazz, regardless. Michael Franks? Nope. Alexander Zonjic? Nope. Kenny G? Oooh, yeah, lots of that! If you really want smooth jazz, you're better off listening to some of the online offerings.
