Note: In season nine, episode six of "Seinfeld," Kramer pulls the discarded set of "The Merv Griffin Show," sets it up in his apartment and starts living out the Merv Griffin Show. Coincidentally, Merv was CBS' first attempt at a late night show. The CBS run was brief. Merv returned to syndication and CBS returned to reruns. CBS' next attempt, almost 20 years later, was Pat Sajack, who contributed a "Wheel of Fortune" bit to Dave's final show.
