Will Magic 105.1 change formats?

With The beat going Classic rock that just opened an idea for them or better yet they'll return to mainstream AC after the holidays.

This seems to be the big mystery right now. I was looking at their website and see that the imaging is basically the same except for the word "Christmas". This leads me to believe that they will not change formats. But who knows.

Sports? 106.7 didn't become WDFN-FM, could 105.1 end up with a sports format as rumored, or just going back to normal after Christmas? :)

Well, CC has been quite busy the last few days flipping FM stations in Seattle and San Diego to simulcasts of AM talk/sports talk stations. With The Ticket at the top of the ratings, I would expect CC to get an FM simulcast for its sports WDFN to compete with The Ticket, which recently broke off its FM simulcast - and that WXYT-AM isn't doing too bad in the ratings.

As I predicted, no format change, just a tweak. Station sounds good thus far.

Yes it does. I have to say that 105.1 sounds a LOT better now than it did when it was "Magic". It plays great soft rock songs that a lot of mainstream AC stations don't seem to play anymore, and it doesn't sound nearly as stale as Magic 105.1 sounded.

The last time I was in the Detroit area (a few weekends ago), I ended up listening to 105.1 quite a bit. I was pleased!

I would like to see 105.1 change to Rhythmic AC - Rhythmic Adult Contemporary.

We can dream, but that's not gonna happen. Rhythmic AC was a fad format and is probably gone forever.

I like the gold-based AC sound of WMGC. I wish one of the stations here in Cleveland would run with that format. Our AC station WDOK is more or less a cross between WMGC and WNIC. In fact they play basically the same 2K/currents as WNIC but also play some 80s and 90s and even an occasional 70s tune.
