As you all may recall Andy is the one who turned YSP into a Hard Rocking, Heavy Metal, Hair Band rocker which did not have enough time to evolve, could this be on the horizon.

I cannot reconcile 'radio' and 'evolve'.

I can...;);)

But seriously, though, if this guy Bloom is tryin to turn YSP into a HARD rocker with a metal edge, I say "Bravo!" - there's a whole DEMO (usually 18-34 males) ;) that APPRECIATES this kind of music!! I think it's GREAT that YSP is tryin to go the metal route...I wish them ALL the best success...

I think that WYSP will go classic.
Then in a couple months, they'll bring in the hard rock.
Then in a couple more months, they'll have O&A mornings and throw on Mike O'Meara (perhaps a tape delayed FB&HW or B&T between them).
And then in a few more months, they'll anounce (with great fanfare!) that "The ROCK is BACK!"

Rinse and repeat.

Active Rock/metal is the happening scene now with the ratings. Alot of radio has gone harder. I would think he should go that route with a great morning show, the ratings will be over 4! Just play alot of new hard rock and stay away from the grunge 90s.

If you recall Bloom programmed the station when it was classic rock, how can we forget

Howard Stern all morning.......and classic rock n roll all day

Here is a question can Bloom persuade Stern to come back to terrestial radio similar to the O&A deal that CBS had with XM...hmmmm??????

agreed, softmachine. radio and evolve equals oil and water. with any luck bloom will stay the course and just keep the rock and not try any great gimmicks like O&A or Stern, the latter of which I believe would be impossible. and as far as "metal," this is not 1984, and i never even hear the term used anymore. i would hope at this point the boys club of radio has realized that the way to attract men is to attract women. guys will show up to anything if women are there, not vice versa. chicks dig good rock music. keep it simple and let the ladies be your guide, mr. bloom.
