Will My Network end up on 62 in Boston?

Darn it.. could you have imagined if this happened a month ago... and WSAH-43 became a My affiliate, and WCTX got to remain independent?(Not sure if that would have worked though, seeing WSAH is really in the NYC DMA, and not New Haven-Hartford.)

WSAH-TV here? Nope! At my house in New Britain, I only get a very weak color signal from them IF I'm checking a TV with rabbit ears...on the third floor. (What's left of the roof antenna at this place wasn't any better.) As for Shop At Home, I think they are cable channel 99 for Comcast here in NB. I'd say replace the cable channel with WWE 24/7, but that'd have to be on the digital tier. :pAs for WEDW-TV (PBS) channel 49 of Bridgeport, I get only slightly better results on my second floor bedroom TV.

Kevin,I couldn't get an over-the-air signal of WSAH when I lived in Bristol. I can't get them over-the-air in Southington. [They're on COX Cable Channel 8]. I've only recieved WSAH's over-the-air singal twice. Once in 1995 while I was on a bus heading down Route 8 (while on the way to Washington DC). Back then they were WHAI-TV running Valuevision 24/7. And I received WSAH's over-the-air signal once about 4 years ago in Bristol when there was a DX opening. (During a seperate DX opening I got 62 from Boston). What a pitty about Shop-At-Home Network. This is the one I actually like watching. I like to watch their cooking and electonic's shows. Plus they also have on the famous guy that share's Kevin's last name. This was one of Channel 43's longest running formats. They were ValueVision from around 1995 until 1998. They were INTV (Paxson Infomercials) from 1998-2001? And they were Shop-At-Home from 2001 until 2006. I also know they were WICC-TV from around 1953-1957. Then they went dark sometime around 1957, had a fire in 1960 or so, and came back sometime in the early 80s run by women.I hope alternative programming does not mean Infomercials, Preaching, or another shopping network. If it does mean one of those three, I hope that their tower in Seymour falls down permanently.See Kevin, you're lucky. Where you live you have Comcast, which carries the national feed of Shop-At-Home, so come June 22 - See Ya. Here in Southington we have COX and it's WSAH. WSAH is must carry so whatever ends up on WSAH will be on COX Cable. BTW Kevin, Sarah says "What Up?"

Over in the part where I lived in Southington the Plantsville part I used to be able to get in WSAH 43 fine just a some snow but you can watch it. Hopefully Cox will drop it come when they end broadcasting. I bet they will get back Shop NBC which was dropped to add NESN on channel 32. So maybe Cox channel 8 will be Shop NBC.

Well, Cablevision carries WSAH on channel 14 AND Shop at Home on the digital tier channel 182. What becomes of them, I wonder? Suggestion--don't know about 14, but 182--though it isn't what it used to be, carry Boomerang! But should I hear anything from either Cablevision or Scripps/Howard, Shop at Home's parent company, I'll post.

Infomercials.........theres not many networks avaible to them because they lay within the NYC market

An AP article that was in this mornings Bristol Press stated that EW Scripps is currently trying to find alternative programming for the 5 Shop-at-Home O&O stations.
For now, infomercials probably until they can sell them, (Speaking of that, whats for sale? Just the S@H stations or all the tv stations?

I don't know about the other 3, but WMFP/62 and WSAH/43 are licensed to WSAH License Group.
Though nevertheless, they could all still be owned by Scripps, even if it doesn't say so on the license. It is common for TV and radio stations to be licensed under a name other than the company that owns it.

How'bout Retro Television Network on WMFP/62 in Boston!

I would love to see the Retro Television Network on 62. I took a look at the schedule of WNGS-TV (Channel 67) and on WKBW-DT2 in Buffalo. This would be the ultimate Independent for Boston. It seems like a combination of the original fX (before they ruined it) and TV Land (before they went modern). Scripps ought to consider running RTN at least until the sales are done. Who knows, maybe they would not sell the stations if they get a following! Just a thought! ;)

I had read in today's herals that Fox 25 may ned up running them between 1 and 3pm?Well this is OK cause it puts them on in HD in the Boston market.Isthere any rteason for comcast to carry 38 HD anymore?Their primetime lineup RERUNS!

Well, they'll be introducing a 9:30pm newscast. That's not a rerun.Both CBS4 and UPN38 are going nowhere. What a mess.

What Scripps could do is fill in the day lineup like this:11:00am Rockford Files 12:00pm Quincy, M.E. 1:00pm Kojak 2:00pm Little House on the Prairie 3:00pm Mission: Impossible 4:00pm The Andy Griffith Show 4:30pm The Andy Griffith Show 5:00pm I Love Lucy 5:30pm I Love Lucy 6:00pm Brady Bunch 6:30pm Charles in Charge 7:00pm The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air 7:30pm Home Improvement 8:00pm TBA10:00pm The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air10:30pm A Different World11:00pm Happy Days11:30pm Laverne & Shirley12:00am Coach12:30am - 11am Paid Programming(these programs are seen over the air in other markets, but not in Boston currently). Then submit a bid for MyNetworkTV, which would cover the 8-10pm, get the deal with Fox, which would make the station salable to Fox. Scripps could also pursuade a trade of WUTB 24 in Baltimore, at that point, for WFMP 62, giving Scripps a duopoly in Baltimore and Fox one in Boston. Fox could then tweak the day/syndicated programming moving shows from WFXT over. I suppose WZMY might hinder a marketing campaign to My62 however, but from what I understand WFMP covers the market better than WZMY.

I turned the tv on only to find out that the same programming from Comcast channel 243 was now on Comcast cable 20 (channel 62). I certainly hope someone buys that group of 5 channels we don't need anymore shopping channels/networks. Anything but that. I did email Fox News Corp to ask them if they considered buying those 5 channels or had they been in any discussions with either Channel 50 in Derry, NH or with any of those Shop at Home Channels individually but no reply yet. When you go to Comcast Corporate site, you find alot of networks are carried in various markets but several of them are missing from the Boston market and if you ask Comcast, if you get a reply they have not been able to come to an agreement with said cable channel. Has anyone heard anything regarding the new My TV Network or those 5 channels because on Scripps site it says that the 5 channels were NOT part of sale of the network. They have a broker handling those sales.

Chill. It's just temporary. Shop-At-Home just got bought out by The Jewelry Channel. If you watch WMFP/Boston, WSAH/Bridgeport, or the DirecTV/DishNetwork channel postions for Shop-At-Home you will see a message scrolling at least twice each half hour that say "The New Shop-At-Home Network will return Friday at 12:00AM Central Day Light Time".

Note: The sale of Shop-At-Home to The Jewelry Chanel does not included WMFP, WSAH, or any of the other 3 Shop-At-Home O&O Stations.
