Will RTN-TV come to the QC?

I know this is a radio board but---What are the chances the Retro TV Network will come to Charlotte? Recently WRAL-TV in Raleigh/Durham, who owns WJZY and WMYT, started broadcasting RTN on a digital subchannel of WRAZ-DT. The channel was immediately picked up on all Time Warner digital services in the market. Now I notice Cox's WSB-DT in Atlanta (which also owns WSOC-TV) will also pick up RTN. WSOC-DT recently dropped it's digital weather channel which was carried by TW, and both WJZY and WMYT have digital channels on TW which simply repeat their analog channels (not to be confused with their HD channels) also on TW. Wouldn't it make sense to put RTN on one of those channels? I'm also wondering why WCNC doesn't pop Telemundo on one of their digital channels, since TELE is owned by NBC.

The last thing I want is more digital-only channels. Or any. I don't want this digital revolution to happen because I'm too far out in the country and I don't know what's going to happen.

What I'd like is Ion. A person can't even get that on cable in Charlotte, as far as I know. Something to do with WAXN having some of the programming, even though it wasn;t all. Now it's none. And I get to see what I'm missing when I look at newspaper TV listings. Greensboro's Ion affiliate doesn't even have a signal worth watching.

I was hoping either CW or My Network would flop, giving RTN or Ion more opportunities.

Have you actually tried to pick up the digital TV channels at home? Unless you live waaay up in the mountains, it shouldn't be a problem in the Charlotte area. All the major channels are broadcasting at full power, except WMYT and WTVI, both of which got bum allocations from the FCC. WAXN-TV does have a low-powered DT, for some reason. Reports are that WBTV-DT has much improved reception over the old channel 3. I suggest you try a good UHF-only outside antenna. A UHF only antenna will work much better than a VHF/UHF combo. Digital is coming in little more than a year--you might as well get ready for it.
Regarding ION in Charlotte---years ago, the previous PAX network was featured on Action 64 during the day some years ago, before Action got all those court shows. By the time Action dropped PAX programing, the network had more or less tanked, and I guess Time Warner felt it would be a waste of time to add the PAX sat service. Even now, ION is mostly informercials though they do show some good retro programming at night.
