Will Steve Harvey return to LA's airwaves?

With Steve Harvey recently signing a deal with CC's Premiere Radio Networks to host a new nationally syndicated morning show, I wonder if he will eventually resurface on Hot 92 Jamz? I'm curious to see if anyone knows anything or thinks it could possibly happen.

Hi,

If my memory serves correctly, there is a non-compete that will keep him off the LA airwaves until next May (?)

And another question that should be asked

How could Harvey fit in at KHHT, which is a Rhythmic AC(yes that is exactly what it is, we are not arguing the specifics)? A syndicated program like Harvey's, if it is similar to Tom Joyner will probably feature music that doesn't even fit in at KHHT! Yes doesn't fit in is what I said! I'm talking UAC currents from Charlie Wilson, Prince, and Jill Scott, I ain't talking about Rap Music. And if the music isn't enough of a concern, Harvey's own mouth rambling about "black this, black that" will ensure that things go really smoothly with a "Hispanic" targeted signal.

Look, KHHT already has a decent host in Diana Steele. They've been through so many celeberty morning shows that another one, especially someone that can't relate to their audience isn't even worth the hassle. And if they don't even believe in Diana, then just give up and become more music mornings or something. Besides, Hot to me has been sounding good lately. Playing the hits and that's EXACTLY what they need to keep doing. Don't need unfocused issues again at KHHT.

Sorry, but Steve blew it here. As funny as he was and everything, I wondered if the John London issue of age would catch up to him on a Young Urban. It did and RO decided they needed a younger host. Is Salley good? You may debate that, but he fits the format. The only likely place for Steve is KJLH and Stevie Wonder probably doesn't have interest as he has Cliff and Jenneane in place already. If he was interested in a syndicated morning show, he would have already had Tom Joyner on, but he didn't(Joyner is another personality that will NEVER see a LA Home).

To recap, No Steve on KHHT, and probably nowhere in LA LA.

You are assuming, of course, that Clear Channel has no changes for KHHT between now and expiring non-compete--and that there wouldn't be another 'suitable' outlet for him to open up in that same time frame.
