Will Tejano ever make it back to the FM dial ?????

Just wondering if tejano will ever make it back to FM dial in Houston where it once was???

Ummm!! Wel I said it before and I will say it again, even if nobody agree with me!! Tejano is on El Norte 96.9 Fm KNTE, its not a Tejano sttion but thats the only station that plays Tejano on FM!! Estereo Latino is playing it right now due to the unafortunate accident Mr Emilio Navaira has had. But if he makes it back. And I pray that he does. If he makes it back that will be the end of that story and everything back to normal!

Since you asked get ready the day is near. In this year.

I seriously doubt that!!! And if it does come back it will be for a couple of months!!!

El Norte is not a tejano station, they spike a song here and there to pull the listeners from, 980. Cause they have been showing and improving in the ppm world. Get ready Houston. To be continued......

Who would put a Tejano Station here in houston?? Univision?? not likely, they are trying hard to keep Tu Musica 104.9. Estereo Latino is there best station here in houston. Party? Well I dont know about them, if they start losing ratings they may leave, but I think that if they leave they would move Recuerdo to 93.3 and maybe bring back La Que Buena, or start La Nueva!!

LBI??? They would never take away La Raza, XO?? Umm maybe they would move to 96.9 and change El Norte to 107.9!!

Clear Channel??
Once they sell their two stations they are going to have to make some changes to their programing, if they keep a spanish station it would be Mega!! I really dont see them replacing a format to Tejano!!

The only station that would and thats a big if!! Would be Pacifica 90.1 fm with Mr Guz GArza

Now, that makes the list for the dumbest thing ever said this year. First off, Tejano music has dried up in revenue. Second, how do you even expect them to make revenue on a NON-COMMERCIAL Radio staion (fund raisers?). The format is missing one leg, and you want to cut the other, wow. And it doesn't end there. There is no "if" in KPFT. Look up the owner of KPFT. Does Pacifica Foundation ring any thing to the ear. I guess not in yours.

Texano, What do you know that i dont (This year) ?Mr TexMex shame on you , You are so negative towards the the tejano format. Sometimes i see you on the Tejano 980 AM website. so i guess youre not a tejano supporter. Well on a POSITIVE note, ANYTHING IN HOUSTON IS POSSIBLE. You ever heard of the saying ....Never Give Up!!!! The day is coming that Tejano will be back with a force.

Luckros let me tell you something!! Well nevermind I will tell you in the tejano page not here!

It's on HD 2 on KLTN. Not enough core listeners, and most are in 35+, too.Real problem: no new music to speak of.

No.

1029 hd-2 is still kltn. i wish tejano was on kltn's hd-2, much better than kama's hd-2 but then again there is always a conflict on programming dept, its mainly about why kqbu went away. kltn has a mix of kqbu so thats why kqbu is gone, univision dont need two stations fighting for the same public. tejano always been here and to move it to kltn's hd-2 can be or will be a station where the numbers will be moving away from kltn to krtx. i dont beleive it will ever happen if it does, then it means kltn has given in.

to answer the first question, tejano is on FM, radio will inevtibly be HD and FM will cease to exist, in the way way future. why radio listerners dont want to purchase hd radios is beyond me, you will never go back to fm. of course there is still issues and tejano on kama hd-2 is not on the best signal coverage, so that is why i wish to have tejano on kltn hd-2.

Didn't you put KQBU (Que Buena) for a while on KLTN HD2, then switched to KLAT a couple of days later. For some odd reason, that only lasted for a week.

You know, something that puzzles me is that KPTY states their HD ID (KPTY HD) in their I.D. I'm assuming KPTY is HD bound as well?

Try Corpus. 4 Tejanos on FM - 93.5/104.9, 94.7, 98.3, 99.9, and 105.9 coming in from the "Brush Country" (San Diego). Sometimes 106.3 from Falfurrias comes in too.
