Will the "Big Game" in PHX be simulcast on FM?

With KGME holding the radio rights to the non-Cardinals NFL game of the week, that means they will also be carrying the national play-by-play of the Super Bowl, which might just be the largest event ever to hit the Valley (so far). However, once sun sets on that Sunday in February, 910 goes directional and misses parts of the metro.

Would it make sense for Clear Channel to simulcast the game on one of its FM stations (I'm thinking Mix 96.9 or possibly KNIX)? Will it even matter given that most people who won't be in Glendale will be watching it on TV? Well, maybe people who are driving will.

XTRA 910's nulls are toward Buckeye, south Scottsdale & the Salt River Indian Community, and a lesser one in far-north Scottsdale & Carefree. The latter is probably the only one they'd be concerned about since there's no money in the other two. I doubt if CC will put the game on FM, although that's been the norm for the NFL (including the Cards since 1994 although most years have been an AM/FM simulcast) in recent years.

Not much chance of that happening, although it is a good idea.

...put it on KFNN 15~Ten - they don't change patterns for an hour and 15 minutes past local sunset! ::) ::)

But who listens to the Super Bowl on radio, anyway?

Or on KFNX 1100 Cave Creek--sometimes they don't power down
until late in the evening.

Nerd Alert! Two years ago I was doing yard work during the first half and listened on the radio.
