Will The Big Talker Survive?

There is no way that Sir-Mix-A-Lot and Nirvana can can be on the same station. Even CHR back then wasn't this wide.
Right. Stations called Jack, Bob, Sam and Steve sure didn't last very long.

You're both forgetting that I-100 played both of those artists and had tremendous ratings (10+ range).

I'm not forgetting anything. I know nothing about I-100. WQBB, WUTK, WEZK and WIVK-AM/WNOX are the only Knoxville stations I ever listened to.

I doubt it. Half a dozen stations play him already.

That's funny. Post of the week.

Although I think he was saying that the station is goin to be called "THE HANK".

Just as long as Brother Sister Clay doesn't wear her little pink dress I'm sure they'll do fine.

Jack has been on the air here since 2005 and still is.

Yep, they've been holding down the upper 1s and lowest 2s since the beginning.

Don't think I'll play the game.

Not that I don't have any imagination....

I just don't think anything is going to happen.

Citidel will emergy from bankruptcy with all its stations in tact, nobody is going to be sold, the Pirkle's will go on doing exactly what they're doing right now (which is nothing), and all of us will have just wasted tons of time we'll never, ever get back.

Time we could have spent, on something else... make that ANYTHING else..

Y'all have fun, though.

Whatever happened to ole abccbsnbcfox? I used to enjoy his/her insightful comments on the radio scene, but he/she seems to have dropped off the radar after the above analysis. Come b-a-a-a-c-c-k
abccbsnbcfox. We won't hold a single miscalculation against you. When "Hank" launches in July or August, we shall be listening for your opinion. Latest word on the Pirkles and Brantley is that they were seen at lunch with a realtor while out looking for studio space in Farragut. Some strip center with a Mexican restaurant and a paint or hardware store

Yep, just west of Campbell Station.

Please let this "Hank" thing be a joke! After Jack, Earl and Merle, the name novelty thing has worn out its welcome.

I'd like to see them keep it simple, especially since they appear to be keeping the call letters. "Knoxville's Big Country, 100 WNOX" sounds like a winner to me. Hank sounds cheesy.

Equally reliable word has placed them at the Hardee's in Coalfield talking with a commercial realtor about a satellite sales office there. And Andy Reeves was rumored to be working out a trade with Snuffy's in Jamestown. Negotiations have broken down with Bigfoot's agent. Looks like it's not going to be called "100.3, the Mountain Wookie."

I saw Pirkle and Brantley at Golden Girls at Norris Exit in Clinton with Andy Reeves last week. Andy car was pulling a boat. I think that he going to handles sales effort on Norris lake area Monday thru Friday.

One of Pirkle's lawyers was seen at Long's Drug Store canoodling with Sandra Bullock.

Now come on. They're building studios at Dollywood. It'll be Dolly 100.3

Fighting fire with fire. Dolly's boobs are more famous than the big 'uns at Citadel Corporate.

Uh-oh! When a thread degenerates to discussing parts of the anatomy, male OR female, it is time to pray for some major announcement. Otherwise, it looks like this board is running out of steam.

H-i-s-s-s-s-s.

(I wonder if anyone has asked the players in this little soap opera what they plan to do. Think I'll go see if Brantley or Pirkle are listed in the telephone directory.)

Want the truth? It's stranger than fiction.

They're leasing studio space from Journal and locating the sales team in the Reynolds house on Bearden hill until their new
building can be finished off of Parkside.
