Will the Jamz Flip Affect Kiss?

Is anyone wondering whether the Jamz flip to The River will mean that Kiss 104.1 will go back to mixing in newer music? My guess is yes.

By the way, I see The River is doing the standard Cox 10,000 songs in a row to launch. Cox did that with The Beat and 97-1 Jamz.

97-1 Jamz was a bad mistake to begin with. Jamz took listeners away from existing Cox properties. I like Kiss the way it is, but they will likely add newer music as you say. It should be intresting to see what ratings imact this has on Kiss and the Beat. I could remember making a short list of ideas for 97.1 and All Rock & Roll Oldies or ARROw (very similar) made my short list, but I thought it was the third best of the three ideas due to audience age and other stations with those songs on their playlist. It really only worked because the market lacked an Oldies outlet and it could be run with no personalities. I still feel my "Alive 97" idea would've worked best. Who ever tries it will surprise the market. That is a real hole in this market and many other southern markets.<P ID="signature">______________
