It would be great to see this format come to South Florida. ;D

I can think of only 2 stations that can pick up that format, one of them is clear channels lite jazz love 94 ( 93.9) something new will come out of that station sooner or later.... and the other Cox's, The Toast 97.3 needs an update.
Lite FM 101.5 i doubt will budge they have had the same format for 30 years and have higher ratings than Toast or Love 94. By the way lite FM just went HD and have a new website www.wlyf.com

I'm sure I'm not the only one asking... "what is it?"

And "why should it be here?"

To answer your first question, just go to this link: http://www.burnsradio.com/movin/

As for your second question, I kinda ask myself that everyday when I wake up!! ;D

OK... I'm listening to their demo. Not bad. I've heard worse.
I wouldn't set a button for it, however.

Notice that the company is Florida-based... on the panhandle.

I doubt it. Nothing majorily exciting has happend to South Florida radio in a while. Like someone else mentioned, maybe CC will flip 93.9 to Rhythmic AC.

"93.9 The Party" or "Miami's 93.9".

Hmmm

I sure hope not.

WLVE still has a little bit of real jazz
that isn't smooth jazz. You just have to know when it's on.

Take WMIB or WMGE or WPOW instead.

I see it as a possibility because they flipped Philadelphia's Smooth Jazz station. I wouldn't be surprised if Clear Channel makes some room down here for Whoopi (I hope not) and for some reason, I see her show failing down here IF she goes on the air.

Yea i agree with 954 id love to see Sour 96, WMIB and WMGE just go away, especially 96 and 949. I cant force myself to listen to any of the crap those stations spew.
Anyways, i doubt mega 949 will last any longer then 1.5 to 2 years, the last few radio stations clear channel has put out here in Miami in the last 10 years have all flopped. 1035 planet radio, disco 1035.. dumping zeta rock for all things an eigth spanish station... 949 ur days are numberd !

South Florida seems like it would be a good market for Rhythmic AC. I'll go ahead and predict that a station will flip to it and that it will do well.

South Florida was a popular spot for many Rhythmic AC artists such as Expose, Stevie B., Soul Sonic Force. Why not a Movin format. I have to say it is going to be hard to find a station that will take the risk. I think that there is a big difference between a station like (Party 93) which plays current music. -vs- a Rhythmic AC station. Dunno..your thoughts... :)

disco 1035..

You might not believe this, but I liked disco Mega 103.5, briefly, before CC trashed it.

When I discovered the station, I was surprised to learn that disco sounded OK when it wasn't at eardrum-popping volume, which had been my previous exposure to it.

Whenever I discover a station I like, it disappears. I had only been listening to jazz on The Magic Bus for a few months when it became Love94, 30 years ago! I'm still pissed.
