Will the National Spelling Bee "Bee" E/I?

Tonight at 8 PM ABC will be airing the finals of the National Spelling Bee. this is probably the most educational program the network airs all year. Will they be labeling it as E/I? If not they should. I know the TV coverage puts a lot of pressure on the kids. However it is very educational and anyone that watches will no doubt add a word or two to their vocabulary (especially children) something that beneficial to everyone!

I put my money on "no", as they already have the minimum three hours on Saturday. Even though the Spelling Bee is truly educational, they feel that just the three hours on Saturday morning's good enough for E/I.

I've always thought kids are pretty smart they don't a large on screen E/I bug to constantly remind them they're suppised to be "learning something". But that's just me. :p

My program guide shows it is rated "TV-PG". Odd, since I don't think the kids will be spelling profanity.

No, The Annoying "E-I" bug is for regularly scheduled childrens programming of an educational or instructional nature, a list of which is required to be included in the station's public inspection file. The commercial limit rules apply to all programming specifically targeted to children. It appears to me the spelling bee broadcast is being targeted to adults.

I say this because "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody" and the "Power Rangers" are not educational. Jack Hanna and qubo (Ion/NBC) are.
