Will the NBA return to NBC?

Extra boomer and x ratings available on NBC with the 90s theme music and Bob Costas.
And if Jordan hits the gym, he might not be the only 80s and 90s Mike coming back to beat up on some young punks!

Not so sure Bob Costas would fit with this one. If NBA on NBC were to return on the national level there are a few candidates that would be considered like Bob Fitzgerald, Mark Jones, and others who are assigned from the regional games to national editions of NBA on NBC or something better we cannot see like get some of the NBA pundits to switch from Ballys to NBC Sports and so on.

As much as I love Inside the NBA, I doubt Warner is going to renew their contract with the NBA despite being in so much debt with their merger with Discovery. The only upside about Warner is that they still get to operate NBA TV.

Not going to Happen when NBC Sports moves from local contract to national contract would have to be transferring some of their regional announcers to the national broadcast and move NBA pundits to NBC. Also they would have to use the one from the regional theme to the national level but remove local references in the visuals. OK there are active NBA stars that were not even born when Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen were the leagues biggest stars.

Here is an update on how the NBA Broadcast deal will play out.
NBCUniversal is expected to pay the NBA an average of $2.5 billion a year to show around 100 games per season – half of which that would air exclusively on Peacock, an individual familiar with the terms confirmed to TheWrap. The games would air on NBC on Tuesdays and Sundays to avoid conflicting with the network’s “Sunday Night Football.”

Amazon would pay $1.8 billion for regular season and playoff games, the new NBA in-season tournament and “play-in” games where teams compete for the final payoff spots. The tech giant would also be given a share of the conference finals, which the media partners would split in a rotation, people familiar told the Journal.

Meanwhile, Disney would pay about $2.6 billion per year to continue to air the NBA Finals, up from its current $1.5 billion. The company would get fewer games than its current deal and ESPN would air games on its upcoming direct-to-consumer service slated to launch in 2025, the Journal said.
