Will the NBA return to NBC?

Also the thought of collusion between the NBA and Amazon could really throw a wrench into things.
Where's the collusion? The NBA has chosen three bidders for rights to telecast/stream its games. There was a fourth bidder, but the NBA feels Amazon can offer it more. The NBA is no more in collusion with Amazon than it is with NBC/Peacock or ABC/ESPN. It's only collusion if the league and Amazon actually plotted to shut out WBD before the bids were taken.

If the NBA told Amazon don't worry about TNT they don't have a shot we want you there could be a problem. Will that come out in this lawsuit?

Yeah, I was editing my last reply while you were typing that. I agree, that would be a problem. But would huge corporations like that take that sort of risk?

TNT had an exclusive window with ESPN. Disney made a deal by bidding way over. TNT bid just over what they were currently paying. NBC wanted back in and I think the NBA wanted them back.

When the window opening up to outside bidders Amazon said ok we will give you this, I wonder if the NBA was talking quietly with Amazon and NBC before the window opened. NBC seemed very confident long before the deal was made official.

TNT was given the right to match. So they said ok we will match the Amazon bid. By right the only offer is the money not the extras Amazon can provide.
