Will the Providence-To-Connecticut migration continue?

Robby Bridges (ex Cat Country, et al) to Bridgeport
Chris Eagan (ex Coast) to Bridgeport and now programming 99.9 where Mike McGowan of the morning show just exited. Star is looking for a replacement. Wonder if another ex-Coast person will fill those shoes. I think so.

Does Tad Lamiere ring a bell?

Well if it is Tad he'll do a good job but he'll be up against Storm N Norman at WEBE and WEBE is clearly the winner in that market. If they're hiring him to do a good job they'll get one. If they're hiring him to win in that time slot it won't happen. And what is it with Mike McGowan? Is he at that point in his career where he's going to lose a job every two years now? That shouldn't be happening at this stage of his career.

I guess Connecticut is the next obvious step when a person is looking for work. There and Massachusetts too. They are both next door. If that doesn't work out, you just go to Florida. At least if you are out of a job there you've still got warm weather and Disneyworld! lol

Jenny BOOM BOOM from Hot 106 ( Kix 106 ) to Hot 93.7 Hartford .

Tad Lemire has been on the Star 99.9 Morning Show all week. Chris Eagan is there, so I wouldn't be surprised if he is the replacement of Mike McGowan

I'm familiar with WEBE. Tad with clean, quick personality bits, and a decent music mix could give Norman and WEBE a run for the money. Not overnight, but with consistancy.. numbers could be close. But you can't ramble.

You need patience when introducing a new morning person. Patience is a virtue. Radio isn't virtuous. WEBE is Cumulus which is known for some awful moves, rivaling Clear Channel. If Cumulus messes too much with WEBE that could eventually help Star but the WEBE morning show probably wouldn't be affected by any dumb Cumulus cost cutting moves.

I would never compare Cumulous with Clear Channel. Across the country, Cumulous has far more live shifts and live jocks than does Clear Channel. That alone is worth its weight...

The problem with WEBE is the fact that with-in the past couple months they've begun speeding up the music, which sounds ridiculous on an AC formatted station (forget the fact I don't like the idea to begin with).

It doesn't even begin to make sense for a station to speed up music. What's the point? is that supposed to make the music sound more energized than the competetion? Guess what? If the band wanted the music to sound more energized, they would have played the freaking instruments faster! Good God.... so many people in radio are complete morons.

CC's KISS 95.7 speeds up the music so much that Bed Rock a rap song by Lil' Wayne and Young Money sounds like it is being performed by female artists.

Getting even more sidetracked is pitch set by the computer automation software? In the past KISS 95.7 used to play some traditional Christmas tunes on Christmas morning and even those were sped up.

.

Well KISS is run by morons then and I hope to God that someone over there reads this so that they can realize what morons they are. Does Management think they know how to make the music sound even better? I'm pretty sure that the Artist who wrote the song knows how they want their own recording to sound. They don't need some idiot Program Director trying to screw around with it.

Yeah. Especially when the CBS-owned Hip-Hop station plays the same song at normal speed and they've creamed KISS 95.7 in the ratings since they signed on in 2001.

Let's not leave out the Providence to Worcester migration, kind of like the railroad:

Bruce Palmer (now at 100-FM the Pike)
Donna Mac and Tom Holt (96.1 WSRS)
