Will the Track ever come back?

bigtime said:
Indy already has 2 true CHRs. Not really any room for another one.
2 Class A CHR's...a full metro signal could quickly drive at least one out of the format.

How do you even Consider Icrap 94 a True CHR station. True CHR's dont Daypart all their currents and Rythmic stuff to nights and go Recurrent/Gold Heavy during the days. ZPL is more CHR than I94 will ever be to begin with. Icrap hasnt even barely nudge ZPL or Radio now any in the ratings. in fact I94 lost ratings from the last warm 93.9 book

I-94 is good,,, It should stay,,, I wish it had more power,,, Its not as good as WNOU but its way better than ZPL,, except back in the 80s and 90s when ZPL was truely a good chr.

I would really like to see 1079 come back as a 80's/90's pop station or a Mike/Jack FM station.
It just seems like CHR or Hot AC would be a complete waste of a signal IMHO.

it is time for an END to format duplication..just what small % of that same pie and demographic do you want? my philosophy has always been "Be what the other stations are not" and own ALL of what you have"

CHR or Hot ac would be do no good in Indy cause it is already covered... besides, if they go Hot AC or CHR that would cut into WZPLs audience share. I listen to B-97 WBWB WNOU, and I-94 for CHR in Martinsville, What we need is a good Oldies, or a Rhythmic AC-Dance, or a 90s station like Gen-X in Louisville, or 106.5 The Buzz in Sacramento...

I like that philosophy...shame that the big group owners aren't familiar with it.

107.9 FM will never come back as long as its signal sounds as muddy as it does now. As it has sounded ever since Entercomm purchased the station. When Mystar owned 107.9 FM, its signal was clean & clear. Whatever Entercomm did to it, compared to EVERY other FM station in Indianapolis, 107.9 sounds muffled & muddy. It won't matter what format they choose, nobody wants to listen to a radio that sounds like it's coming through a pillow case.

AMEN BROTHER OR SISTER! [no offense I'm not sure your gender here] I completely agree ;D

Well Rhythmic AC has launched a few new stations lately,, one in Detroit, but its too soon to say if it is or isnt working. Atlanta has a new one too. the ones that lean more on Current Dance-Pop and r&b seem to perform better than the ones that lean disco. Really, it cant do any worse than The Track... Maybe they can hire Tom berg back to play whatever the new format is,,, I thought he done OK really, I feel bad for him being out of emplyment... I wish some Indy station would bring back Jammin John Trout.

I think Rhythmic AC would work well in Indy. Looking at our demographics and competition, you could pull listeners from the #2, #3, #6, #10, #11, and #14 stations in the city. I have been listening to ZPL the last few days, they seem to be a little more rock-driven than in the recent past.

I still say WOW Radiogroup's WOW Rhythmic AC.

Can you say it? "WOW! One Oh Seven"

Or 107.9 the beat,,, picks you up and makes you feel good. The beat of indianapolis and Central indiana

You're not listening to the station evidently because the problem is technical. They don't broadcast with a "beat", they broadcast with a thud.

ok, so you might take a little from 6 stations.... what do you have? a small % of the same demographic and audience everyone ELSE is going for and NOBODY WINS! including WOW.

why not (OWN a segment of the radio market radio in Indianapolis seems to be ignoring.
play what you want on your I-Pod... this is business.

I use a -phillips 4g mp3 player, I dont like Apple products.. I only use Itunes cause I have to.

If you own 55 plus you aren't getting any buys. Unless you can make a living 100 percent local direct. Small AM like 1480 in Cinn with minimal expenses and talent that all that donates their time..sure. Full signal FM? Dream on folks

Well if its not oldies it will have to be rhythmic ac or a 90s based GEN X type station like in louisville and sacramanto,, Unless it goes mainstream ac and Wtpi comes back... I agree that their -proccessing is bad, but ive heard worse.
