Will this be a mistake?

Hi everyone. I enjoy listening to 50's, 60's and some 70's music. In the Atlanta area, we only have one station that plays this type of music. But, lately they have been having ballgames on and then I feel stranded. We do have one other but they play more 70's & 80's or so it seems. I haven't been impressed with it anyway. Yes, I have a mp3 player but I grow tired of hearing those same songs over and over. Plus, I like to hear DJ's. I was considering subscribing to XM where at least I will have a choice of channels to listen to. Would this be a mistake. I've been reading online here where people are dissatisfied with their service. Are there any Atlanta residents out there that could tell me how they like their service? Thanks for your time.

The question is, "How cheaply can you get it?" If you have to pay their standard subscription rates, I'd argue you're paying too much.

If you are tired of hearing the same songs over & over, then stay away from Sirius/XM. When it was XM alone, it was great, now they have cut the playlist way down. Some say they are now adding songs back to the list but it is no way, shape or form as good as before Sirius bought and trashed it.

I think the rate was about $11 or $12 but if they have a reputation of repeating also, I'm no better off. Thanks for your reply.

100000% agree!! I was close to subbing a few years ago when sirius destroyed it....(BOY WAS I GLAD I DIDNT)

Check out the music only plan and see if it covers the channel(s) you want. It is $9.95 a month plus their royalty fee (1.95?). I listen to classical music, under that plan. I haven't figured it out, but I think they record 12 or 24 hours, then replay it about 3 days later. Definetly not the variety they had under XM management. Still beats commercial radio, but I could just as well load up a 300 play CD changer and put it on random. I'd get more variety.

On a different note, I got a letter the other day saying that they were activating expired tuners for two weeks. Since it has been working anyway, I wonder if this is a trick so that they can deactivate it at the end of the two weeks. I'm thinking I better not turn it on during that time, + one or two weeks after the free trial.
