Will Tom Brady Receive Special Treatment on Talk Radio When . . .

Will Tom Brady receive special treatment from talk radio - sports and general talk radio - when the child he fathered by his former girl friend is born in the next few days.

The likes of Howie Carr are fond of calling such children the "B" word, but Brady is rich, white, famous, handsome and Irish Catholic and not poor, black and not famous.

Look for that old double standard to come into play.

It's a double standard to be sure, but not in the black vs. white way, in the rich vs. poor way.

Poor man - Doesn't have the resources to support a child out of wedlock.

Rich man - Does have the resources to support a child out of wedlock.

Who cares if Brady and Bridget aren't married? Brady pays the bills, no blood, no foul.

Listen for the she-got-knocked-up-on-purpose calls and keep the dump button handy!

The lenghts some men will go to to prove they are 'straight'. I'm still not buying it. ::)

PS: I don't think the baby-mommy is hurting for cash, so I don't really think the 'trying to trap him' argument will hold much water in this case.

Unfortunately, race, color, looks and money have everything to do with it.

So are you preparing us in advance for yet another one of your racist tirades?

Yes, she did. You couldn't have been listening or reading at that time. As I remember, Walker's pregnancy was a conscious decision on her part to have a child and raise that child without a husband. Can't say I agree with her decision but it wasn't what appears to be an "oops" event on Tom Brady's part. He still has the deer in the headlights looks as if to say 'what do I do now.' Walker knew exactly what she wanted to do.

Liz Walker didn't get much grief,I expect about the same for #12.

Brady will undoubtedly get the Kid Glove treatment in Boston, but not because of his race. It's because he's a Boston hero, with three super bowl rings. Pedro Martinez had two children out of wedlock and he was both black and hispanic. I don't recall it ever even being mentioned. Barry Bonds is despised in 29 of 30 major league cities. He is loved in one....San Francisco, because he's their guy.

If Peyton Manning were in the same situation as Brady, there would be all kinds of derision toward him on Boston sports radio........because he's the Colts quarterback, the Pats' enemy.

Exactly. Hope he does more than just send a check. Seems a bit self-centered but hope for his child's sake I am wrong. There is no such thing as an illegitimate child...Illegitimate parents perhaps, but not children. They are real.

Only because you make it so.

The fact is...Brady fathered a kid out of wedlock. This is only an issue if he abandons the kid, doesn't care for the kid, treats the kid like garbage.

otherwise...it's a non-story.

You chose to inject a racial angle to it for no other reason than to bait this board. Who cares about this story really? Gossip mongers with nothing better to yack about. Apparently, you've run out of dog torture, and political scandal angles.

There's so much else going on in the world, that the out-of-wedlock family of Tom Brady should be a non-factor, or something the two broads in the Herald blubber on about.

Race baiting is the tactic of the weak, who bring nothing else to the table for content.

Huh???????

If Tom Brady became Shawn Kemp , Boston will still love Tom Brady until he goes 4 and 12 . If he wins who care . Did anyone care when Larry Bird was a Deadbeat Dad in the 80's ?

Excellent point Casablanca. I'm glad you brought it up.
Talk Radio will play softball with Brady. Even the so-called ''family values" crowd.
There will most certainly be a double standard.

More preemptive bitching!

I certainly have the feeling this baby was planned, if only by the mother. I don't blame Brady for anything. I haven't followed the whole thing close enough to know whether he's indicated the breakup occured before or after the big news, or because of it.

Most of athletes that have this problem have it as a pathology.

If I were him I'd have said even less about it than he has though. I only see him getting heat if the team starts poorly.

Like it or not, Tom Brady is a role model. For what is the question that is still unanswered. Of course, his coach dumped his wife for a trophy girl friend. So, don't expect any moral values - other than winning at all costs - to come from Bellechick. As long as both make money for the media - radio- TV and print don't expect to hear any questioning about Brady or Bellechick from them. They will do their best to bury the topic.
