Will we see a new 1067 after XMAS?

The HD2 channel is missing this morning... It usually airs the alternative project IHeartRadio stream. Maybe they are trying to redirect listeners to the main channel with the pending change. If that's the case, to me it would make sense to do that _after_ they make any change. That is unless the current music format is what we will call X106.7?

The only reason I could see them removing HD-2 temporarily is to do some format shuffling. Put the alternative project on HD-1 as "X1067" and then put Gen X or some other format on HD2.

My guess is the Gen X name is history after Xmas. 106.7 The X sounds like a good name, especially since CC has WXEG/The X in Dayton(Although 'XEG is an Active Alternative...'CGX is more Modern AC-ish).

I was thinking that too, but I wouldn't be shocked if they flip it before XMAS as in today. No jocks on, nobody posting on the FB page like usual, and the HD-2 channel is gone this morning. Maybe I'm too excited for this horrible format they have on now to go away, but just throwing a few things out there. The X in Dayton is now Premium Choice running PC Active Rock if I'm correct. I wouldn't be surprised if they throw that or Alternative on 1067 here and move the original Gen X to HD-2... however, The X could be a smokescreen. I mean, they did this format before Gen X and it failed. ???

The Blitz would have a hayday if GenX becomes an active rock format. If 106.7 does return to alternative this time maybe they'll keep Rover off this time around. That is what I think caused the format to fail the first time.

I think he was on this morning and Rafferty is on now. And even though the the new branding is not on the air yet, the transistion is pretty much complete this is the new X

I haven't heard currents yet but probably won't be long. I'll be interested to see how much of the modern AC they keep around with a name like 'X'.

This is more of a general alternative statement, but I'm a little shocked alternative programmers haven't picked up on the rise of dubstep and drum and bass music. These artists get tens of millions of hits each on YouTube, they're selling out shows and festivals, getting a lot of Grammy noms, and everything from their explosion in popularity to the explosive sounds, reminds me of the 'grunge' era (cira 91-92).

Between Skrillex, Nero, Deadmau5, Modestep, and so many others, this is starting to feel like a true format or at least a branch of the alternative format. The emotion of this style of music just seems to fit alternative (new, young, rebellious) better than most rock artists labelled alternative today. And if we look at what launched alternative music into being a big moneymaker in the 90s, it was the new, young, rebellious music. Anyways, I digress... I guess my point is that if you wanted to call yourselves 'X' but needed to differentiate from an Active Rock and an indie-friendly alternative, edgy EDM might be a good void to fill.
