Will WKXW ever come back on 97.3?

I was just wondering especially during the past week when we dodged a bullet with the hurricane that wasn't. With no talk radio or news radio in Atlantic County I was forced to watched TV if I wanted to get info. I don't listen to ESPN 97.3 anymore. I don't like the shows and when they talk about USC football or the Atlanta Braves I can care less. Is it possible that they could go back and put NJ 1015 on 97.3 like they used to? Why they made that change is beyond me. Whoever told them they should did a valuable disservice to the area that I live in.

What do you mean "no talk or news?" WOND is news/talk. Or do you mean "on FM?"

Most likely FM. That 97.3 is a real powerhouse signal and it does cover almost all of South Jersey.

WOND @ 1400am fills the news/talk need of South Jersey very, very well and for 1,000 watts it gets out very well too.

WIBG-AM @ 1020am also does a good amount of news/talk and has an even more powerful signal making it into the Philly 'burbs.

NYC's 770am and Philly's 1210am also pull some listeners at the South Jersey Shore as well.

NJ101.5 for all intents and purposes should be Central Jersey 101.5 - there is only minimal amount of news or talk on the station relevant to anyone south of Toms River. Middlesex/Somerset/Union/Monmouth is their target and they do an excellent job at serving those areas - but what is relevant in Edison or New Brunswick is typically irrelevant to people in Manahawkin, Mays Landing or Vineland (97.3's strongest signal area).

In my own experience 97.3 has tons of listeners here in Ocean County as well as Atlantic County - especially during Phillies & Eagles seasons (likely many more than the simulcast of 101.5 ever had).

Besides, if you really, really want to hear 101.5 on FM - the signal makes it the entire length of the Atlantic City Expressway and is quite strong in the Hammonton and Egg Harbor City areas (both in Atlantic County).

I can usually get 101.5 in the car to about Exit 29 on the GSP (right before the Great Egg Harbor Bridge).....After that it's a mess with a mix of WCFA-LP Cape May...Before WCFA-LP signed on I could get NJ-101.5 quite often in Wildwood.....101.5 does have issues around the Atlantic City area now with 101.7 WMRH-LP Linwood on the air....I noticed 101.7 bleeding onto 101.5 when driving around the GSP & AC Expressway interchange (Exit 38)

I would love to hear 101.5 return...and I agree that most of us unless you are a sports junkie could care less about the Denver Whatevers or the Salt Lake City WhoDunnits or much else besides the Phillies or Eagles if you're from south Jersey. Plus there are just too many promos about shows and teams I have no interest in. I will say that Mike and Mike in the morning is at least entertaining. Also adding that I have no problem in my car picking up 101.5 from my home in Vineland up to work in Cherry Hill...but I don't live in my car and don't want to have to listen online. One last comment...the poster is correct in stating most of the issues are directed at central New Jersey....but hey...radio is still a business and that's what keeps them fed.

I always call NJ101.5 "North Jersey 7/80" meaning "Nothing south of Exit 7 off the Turnpike or Exit 80 off the Parkway." And that Exit 7 is only if there's a disaster at Six Flags.

Putting them on a frequency in South Jersey is a waste.

New jersey 101.5 is informative for central jersey, the northern shore area, and southeast jersey. They do cover issues for the whole state and the host make it sound like the come from mostly south jersey. Its too bad they dont cover more areas but what could the do start the new jersey radio network? Also the fill in's for michelle this summer were good i like carol and denna, the girl from news 12 is too young for dennis and ken matthews is ok.

NJ 101.5 should get a translator for 101. 5ior something in Northern NJ,since theres nothing up there now, would be nice to get traffic and weather without using a special setup to listen.
101.5 and 97.3 overlapped,so that was a waste,I got 101.5 everyhwhere I got 97.3 down the shore.

Nothing against WOND, but they're not WKXW. I think that without them on 97.3 they really aren't serving my area anymore. I do like listening to them when I can hear them (Jim Gearheart is great and so is Dennis but I don;t like Casey at all, Michelle is soso and I miss Tommy G because at least he talked about AC). Does anybody know the recent ratings in Atlantic City? I'd be shocked if the canned sports does better than WKXW did on 97.3.
