Will WPCH-FM Peach 94.9 really return to the Atlanta airwaves?

I don`t know the answer to this question, but I think that it could and may happen. Why? Peach 94.9 had a very strong history in Atlanta for at least 30-35 years. Cheap Channel was crazy (in my opinion) to change the name to "Lite 94.9" back in the early 2000`s. C.C. still owns the peach 94.9 website address (it still redirects) and I believe that they are using the WPCH call letters in another market. If they do bring back Peach 94.9 to Atlanta, they need at least two things : a HUGE exciting promotion in announcing the return which stresses the importance of Peach 94.9 to Atlanta for many years and also a HUGE playlist. C.C. needs to break the "mode" of limited playlists and boring product on many of its` stations. Hire fantastic local talent (with a few well known names from Atlanta radio of the past). Cheap Channel has the chance to FINALLY do something exciting and worthwhile in Atlanta radio, I hope that they don`t blow it (again). They are alot of good Atlanta radio people who are currently out of the market that could really help with this... We wish them Good Luck and hope that they use COMMON SENSE in rebuilding an Atlanta trademark- WPCH-FM Peach 94.9!

The WPCH call letters are now on an A/C, named PEACH, owned by Clear Channel in the Macon market.

Ditto for Z93 (both with and without the hyphen [top 40 and classic rock, respectively]), 94Q, Fox 97 (and top 40 97FOX), Power 99 (although you could make an argument that Q100 on 99.7 is Power 99 reborn), 99X, Lake 102, Sunny 100, and Y-106.

Heck, you could go old skool and throw in WPLO (on 590, both top 40 and country, NOT 610 en espanol), Quixie, and WAKE 1340 too.

I'd like to make a long-distance dedication to GT&8O--"You Talk Too Much" by Joe Jones. Does True Oldies have that in their 5000+ song playlist (it might be too old for them).

I don't think you're right about that, Neil, even though Curtis probably would come back if Peach returned.

Since Wpch 94.9 played all Christmas last year I wonder what Atlanta station will do it this year.By the way I hate clear channel and cumulus media.All of their stations have similar formats,too many commercials,repeats and limited playlist.They don't even answer emails.I emailed cumulus over 100 times and never got a response both suck so bad.That's why I got satellite radio I'm tired of limited playlist and commercials.Sorry for the rant about cumulus and clear channel but they had it coming.

It went good. Discussed the new format change. Spreadsheets must always be printed in landscape and not portfolio. You didn't miss much. Don't forget the $3 for the cake.
