Will WVCY TV-30 make it past the digital conversion?

Has anyone heard how WVCY TV-30 is doing in terms of raising enough money to buy the equipment to make the transition to all-digital broadcasting? They already don't have enough income to keep the station on the air 24 hours a day as it is, so I'm curious...<P ID="signature">______________

It is; but they still need money to convert everything to digital, apparently.

IC.. See the thing is, there's nothing saying that have to be fully digital.. They could keep what they have now as long as their signal is digital.

They're at 2, 540 watts (2.54 kw) on channel 22 right now.
They have a construction permit to go 196 kw by July 1,
with their coverage area like so:

In mid-January, as I was heading up to Madison, I happened to catch them doing a telethon for nothing but WVCY-DT. They stated they needed 1 million dollars
to go to full power or else they'd be at low power likely forever (true; 1 million dollars for a basic DTV station at full power is the typical cost, and the FCC would let other stations interfere with any upgrade to the digital signal if they didn't have it up by this summer. I don't know how well
their telethon did.

I believe they need to increase power to meet the FCC Guidelines. I think that is all it is.
