Will you be watching the new Conan show on TBS starting Monday?

The show will be on 11pm eastern, 10pm central, 9pm for most of mountain, and 11pm pacific.

We all have differing opinions, of course, but I have to disagree with Landtuna - I'm a fan of Conan from his Late Night days...though I have to admit I had largely given up watching his Tonight Show.

I'll definitely be DVRing his new show, and watching it the next day. If it's good, I'll probably watch it consistently. If it's similar to his Tonight Show, I'll give up after a few weeks.

I don't watch any of these shows. I've seen funny pieces from them though. On some the audience is so ENTHRILLED, you'd think they were passing a bong around........anything and everything is a laugh out loud riot!!!!!

Johnny Carson was the last one I really watched, and that was seldom. Joan Rivers was also very funny (back then) but we all know how that turned out.

I think we'll see a return of the 12:35 Conan as his Tonight Show stint had him tone down his antics to fit into the "The Tonight Show" flavor.

I will definitely be watching Monday @ 11 and hoping we get late night Conan back. :)

Things will fly on cable at 11pm that wouldn't on network tv. Think about South Park at 10pm on Comedy Central. They couldn't do that on network TV at that time.

@Bill: Apparently, you've forgotten about "NYPD Blue" - which debuted on broadcast television many years before "South Park"...

Except that the major networks became very careful about content a few years after NYPD Blue debuted. It was set off by those well publicized on-air incidents like the accidental profanity on awards shows, and Janet's "wardrobe malfunction," and the suddenly HUGE FCC fines that were levied as punishment. They started being more careful about sexual content on scripted shows, too.

If you remember, the profanity (mostly the "a__h__" word) and nudity on NYPD Blue disappeared on the last few seasons of the show.

It stands to reason that the FCC would be looser now during the Obama Administration, but the major networks are still not taking chances.

I think I will watch the first week on TBS and go from there. If I see pop-up ads for other shows I don't care about during Conan, then I will try to watch his new show online. That is if it's available in its entirety like his old NBC shows were before.

Yes.

It was especially hard to watch Conan self-destruct on The Tonight Show from the perspective of someone with a background in media. I was aware of moments when he seemed to be half-heartedly trying to implement what he obviously was being told needed to change, but his ego just wouldn't get out of the way.

On his last show, he made a big deal about "did it my way," like NBC somehow owed him the airtime with no effort on his part to give the audience what we expected from such a heritage brand.

Conan looks to me like any number of prima donna, short-lived radio morning hosts who place personal gratification above service to the listener. Leno has his critics, but if something's not working, he has the humility to fix it.
