I had the privlidge to work with Willie and call him friend for many years at WKXW back in the 80's and early 90's. He was a great guy, a great talent and you could always count on him to make you laugh.

Oh, man, Willie :(

I never met you personally, but spent many many overnights with you as company when you were on NJ101.5; matter of fact, when you "left" the station, it was just about the end of my listening days (and certainly nights!) there as well.

Rest in peace, my friend.

My condolences to the family of Willie may he rest in peace.
As for MichaelE's tasteless swipe at the station that was uncalled for in this tread and at this time.
I listen day and night to NJ101.5 and enjoy all the programs. Let's keep this tread positive. I am sure Willie a religious man would have wanted it that way.

Rest in peace, Willie
What did he pass from?

Re: My "tasteless swipe"

My apologies if anyone takes my supreme enjoyment of Willie's show as a "tasteless swipe". I just wanted those who remember him to know how much one listener enjoyed him.

I truly have no gripe about NJ 101.5 -- matter of fact, if you knew me and my posts at all, you'd know that I'm about the first to tell people to stop complaining, and turn the dial. I've taken my own advice, so shoot me.

Peace to all.

I am very sorry to hear of Willie's passing. I enjoyed working with him and the rest of the New Jersey 101.5 family while we were preparing to move the studios to the facility on Walters Street and I would chat with him while doing late night maintenance on the studios or the WBUD transmitter. His overnight show also kept me company during the long ride home after one of those maintenance shifts. My condolences go out to his family and friends.

Rest in peace, Willie

You were a good jock...you'll be missed but always remembered.. I never met you but would listen at night while driving.... Rest in peace and we will all meet someday at that radio station in Heaven.

Tony Dee PS: Hi Phil

May I also join in sending my condolences to the Twyman family. Although I never met him, I grew up listening to Willie during the days of KIX 101.5 before becoming the talk giant they are today; and it was nice to have his "third shift" voice around when the talking was done for the day.

He certainly deserves the title very few in the Trenton market get: a Trenton radio legend.

Hopefully NJ 101.5 made some remarks on Willie on some of their shows this week.<P ID="signature">______________

WOW!! Being around the Garden State you truly never knew what to expect on any given overnight in terms of traffic, weather, news, etc. However you could ALWAYS count on Willie Twyman to not only keep tabs on things, but to also keep you company on the overnights. He was a Great Air-Personality and he WILL surely be missed by many. May I offer my personal condolences to his family and those of some of my acquaintances who also had the pleasure of spending many years listening to Willie. May you Rest In Peace Willie and I'll second the notion that perhaps one day we will ALL have the pleasure of meeting "Up North!"

Sincerely,
~DJinNJ
