WILM adds Weather Channel forecasts

I noticed that WILM has added Weather Channel forecasts. This adds an extra voice on WILM as you now hear the Weather Channel person doing the weather rather than the WILM staffer reading the National Weather Service forecast. I believe I noticed the Weather channel forecasts also on WWTX, not sure about WDSD or WDOV.

It was great to have the Weather Channel forecasts on WNRK in the late 80's. In return, the station was mentioned as carrying the forecasts on the cable TV Weather Channel local breaks, in areas that you couldn't even hear the station!

I don't normally listen to WJBR, but my wife sometimes has it on, and I noticed they are now using CBS 3 weather people doing the forecast. Is WJBR connected somehow to KYW? Or is CBS 3 making some extra money on the side doing weather for out of town (that is non- Philly) stations? Or is WJBR trying to make itself a Philly station sort of how Channel 12 has done. You know COL being Wilmington, but targeting Philly.

CBS 3 is being marketed to radio stations, I guess for he advertising value or maybe the cash involved. WPHT is using it, now its in Delaware. Probably will hit several NJ stations.

I doubt it has anything to do with making WJBR a "Philly" station. It would be more for increasing the CBS 3 presence in the Wilmington metro. Beasley is not looking for more competition to B101.
