WILM traffic reports: Now the anchors are doing it.

At least they were during drive time last week. No more remote via cell phone from some curbside. ;D

I now agree... WILM is Chump Channel chintzy (for lack of a better word).

From the 1290theticket.com website, it mentions that CC stations are moving into a new
building in New Castle, but the phone lines aren't ready. That probably affects the traffic reports,
and callers for programs.

WILM has been in its new location for about two weeks now. Is the situation still the same with the anchors reading the traffic reports, or has that gone back to normal?

No they still seem to be having various equipment problems. It's a shame as those folks have waited for quite a while to get into that nice facility only to not have the equipment all available and working. My guess is they must really be frustrated. Once they get all the equipment functioning properly, they ought to have a great sound as it is all state of the art equipment, from what I've been told.

They still are only reading the news without the on site reporter or sound. The traffic is read and John Watson's talk show is him and Joe Backer discussing issues with callers emailing in questions and comments. What Watson could do, is do what WILM originally did back in 1949 when they started talk radio with the "It's Your Nickel" show with Joe Pyne (before he moved on to TV and fame). Back then they didn't have the ability to put the callers on the air, so Pyne would listen and tell you sentence by sentence what they were saying. They were still doing this into the early 1960's as I recall.

You're kidding me, right? Are you saying they are currently doing a call-in show without the ability to take calls? What's the problem with setting up even a crude costs-next-to-nothing speakerphone with a mic next to it? Even a standard receiver with a handset mute is better than not having phones at all. Jeez, Louise! How the heck does stuff like this happen?

Apparently, they decided it wasn't worth it as today they aired the Ramsey show from WW1. If they are going to air a fill in show until they get their phone issues resolved, I'd sure like them to air Glenn Beck as I can't get 1210 at work.
