Wilmington Radio Legend Dick Holmes passed

Dick Holmes who started in Wilmington radio in the mid 1940's on 1450 WILM and made a career in Wilmington radio at various stations here including the former 1290 WTUX passed away earlier this week at the age of 85. For more info about Dick Holmes and a couple of photos, see Mark Fowsers blog page at www.wilm.com.

Damn! I am very sorry to hear that. I worked with Dick in the early nineties; he was truly a first-class guy all around. Sincere condolences to friends and family...

I am glad that I contacted Dick Holmes last summer and we shared many memories through e-mail. I really enjoyed his web site, with many photos from the old days. A true gentleman I enjoyed working with at WTUX.
