Wilmington Radio

Was visiting Wilmington today. Got to listen to several stations - QQ, GNI, 99.9. Not bad. I understand Stanley B. Stewart is working at 99.9. There's a name from my past!

Stanley B. Stewart, huh? I never knew he ever carried "Stewart" as his on-air last name. You must go WAY back with him. Which station did you two work at together?

BTW - I worked with Stan for a number of years in Wilmington as well.

I dropped the Stewart years ago. I was awarded that name one evening when I came into work by the GM who decided to change every ones name. I worked 7-12 in 1973 at "The Rock Of Coastal Carolina" 1340 GNI. (my 1st full time job that was given to me by Ron Phelps aka: Bob Scott, ) When I came in to work there were two names left on the list to choose from, Tommy Randall and Stanley B Stewart. Sorry I stuck you with Tommy, John Wolf wherever you are.
I've been to Fayetville,Baltimore, back to Fayetville, Charlotte, L.A. and decided to retire here at home, on the beach. I have a wonderful staff, a fun sounding station, great upper management support, lovely wife, kids are all married but one. Yes...life is good!

Stan

I caught part of your show last Friday - having fun on the phone with that survey. Enjoyed the music mix on the station - carried it almost to Benson before it began to fade on me. I assume you are PD - doing a great job.

I worked at GNI from 1963 through 1979 (with time out for the Army) including the days of The Rock of Coastal Carolina. Didn't use one of those fake names, though!
